This is another woodland wildflower called Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica). I was visiting an old growth forest in Ohio with my daughter, and we spent a pleasant couple hours there.

Thanks! I'm seeing these all over the place now. You'd think since I've already photographed this one, I'd stop trying to get a better photograph of this flower, but you'd be wrong. Thank goodness I'm not paying to develop them. lol

You have used light very well on all of these flower pictures wizard

Thanks, Sami! I have been setting the white balance on spot, lowering the exposure setting, and then focusing right on the light-colored petals. That makes the background a bit dark, but that seems okay to me.

Well done with the white balance http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Applause.gif - I kind of like little darkish pictures. A good color on petals is most important.

Thank you, Elina. happy Because it's so small, you really have to want to see it. Just walking through the woods, it is hard to take in how pretty it is. I am seeing a lot of it in the forests now.
