This is another woodland wildflower called Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica). I was visiting an old growth forest in Ohio with my daughter, and we spent a pleasant couple hours there.
Thanks! I'm seeing these all over the place now. You'd think since I've already photographed this one, I'd stop trying to get a better photograph of this flower, but you'd be wrong. Thank goodness I'm not paying to develop them.
Thanks, Sami! I have been setting the white balance on spot, lowering the exposure setting, and then focusing right on the light-colored petals. That makes the background a bit dark, but that seems okay to me.
Thank you, Elina. Because it's so small, you really have to want to see it. Just walking through the woods, it is hard to take in how pretty it is. I am seeing a lot of it in the forests now.
