Call for May 2011 Exhibition

It's time to pick out the best photo of May from your own Album and send the link in a PM to "shootell".

We would like to have the links by the end of May 2011 ,May 31th at the latest. It will take a few days to put this together, so the Exhibition will open the door around the 3th of June 2011.

I hope you all will join in and send your best of the month that you would like to show a bit extra. If you find it difficult to decide what is your best picture of the month, then let us (moderators) to decide!

We hope to see photos from all of us!

Welcome to the Highlights of Tower and Shadow Theme

This month many members desided to divide the theme. So many great pictures.
I desided to make a mix of them all. Some members have choosen to do one task,
Tower. Others have done both or just Shadow. So please everyone enjoy.

My Opera looking for photos

Got a favorite photo of your own on My Opera?

Espen is looking for some really cool, funny or just really good pictures of anything shot by any of our community members.

Monthly theme

In case that someone didn't notice from 7th to 20th May is running another Monthly theme. Theme for this month are Towers. If you want to participate in this theme just upload in your album at least one photo with some tower and tag it with Tower theme.

In this monthly news, we wish to welcome our new members. Some of them are not so new

Tower theme

Spring is for sure here and it brings also nice sunny days. For this reason we decide for Tower theme combined with shadow tech.
In this option you should try to seek for high buildings and constructions. And to make the task more interesting, we challenge you to include shadow, or shoot just the shadow alone, in very similar way as we did on silhouette theme.

Shadows can add a lot to a photograph. They can emphasize emotions, create surreal images, and be used in a variety of ways. While strong use of shadows in color photographs tends to be mostly used in silhouettes, it can also appear in a variety of other forms in color photos as well. In my opinion though, shadows are most powerful when used in black and white photographs. (source:http://bit.ly/ax58i)
