But first things first. For July exhibition we would like to have the links by the end of July 2011 ,July 31st at the latest. It will take a few days to put this together, so the Exhibition will open the door around the 3th of August 2011.

I hope you all will join in and send your best of the month that you would like to show a bit extra. If you find it difficult to decide what is your best picture of the month, then let us (moderators) to decide! We hope to see photos from all of us!

Early start for August theme

Surprise, surprise! The August theme starts already today! The task is to write and shoot a short story on "what you did last summer". You may have holiday and travel plans for next couple of weeks but do not forget to take your camera with you to take some nice shots for Holiday theme.

And this time the tech challenge is kind of "free style" except, the challenge is actually unedit tech This means the challenge is that you do not edit the photo afterwards. And it also means that if you have some sort of artistic filters or software on your camera, then make damn sure not to use it. Instead put your camera on normal mode. But what you can do is to use your skills to adjust ISO, white balance, time, aperture, or any other good old manual settings you have on your camera. We also wish that you write down what you did and explain it after your story on description field. The point of this tech task is to challenge you to learn the possibilities of your camera.

The theme start already today on 20th of July and lasts whole month till 20th of August. We would like to see at least one of your photos for this theme, but bear in mind the limit of 10 photos per week.


Introducing 'shoottell' and what it means for moderation of S&T in the future

Dear members of S&T. We moderators have decided to start using the 'shoottell' account more extensively for moderation. This means that for now on you will be contacted by 'shoottell' if we find something that needs to be corrected in your albums. This also means we wish you to direct your replies to shoottell.

This will certainly make things look more bureaucratic But this way we make sure the correspondence does not get lost into some individual mods inbox. Moreover, we wish to make it clear that you are dealing with all of us, and we all mods stand by all actions we make.

We also start going through pictures posted after February 15th 2011. That is when we introduced our editing instructions. Any pictures we find not fitting into editing instructions may become target of removal. If such cases found, we (shoottell) will contact you and ask you to remove that (those) pictures. We have also updated the editing instructions and we once again wish you to ask first before implementing any new trick not mentioned there.

The members of this group are addicted and devoted to sheer photography. We take pictures every day and want to develop through it. The picture is important; therefore we allow very limited photo editing.
