What a pleasure doing the month's theme review! The Red Theme show is nothing less than spectacular. I tried not to be biased in picking images. But, if my brain told me one thing and my heart told me another, my heart always won. So thank you all for the privilege; I didn't expect it to be this much fun! I really encourage our members ask moderators to put your name in the list here.
Since newer albums enjoy better permanent positioning on our photo page, I decided to have the highlight show in reverse order. Enjoy the theme show and congratulation to all participants!
This morning I woke up looked out of the window and said no
Walking around in my house and it felt like late afternoon
There is a sunset around the corner. I had to put on the light
to get it is daytime. I said another 5 month like this. And now you know what my can of milk is for. Still two days to go in our theme
Tindars basket with white and red blanket and MrMoose with his red mouth
My wife found a new handbag from fair. Not that she wouldn't have enough of them already. But I have to admit this new bag of hers is nice. Especially the color.
Sunset over the Mississippi River on Sunday night.
I've been sick most of the weekend with a cold and needed a little natural spectacle to lift my feelings. Fortunately, the sunset tonight did just that.
This is a high contrast, long exposure shot smoothing out both the choppy water of the river tonight and blurring the moving clouds.
I previously had uploaded a different version of this photo in which I had desaturated all but the cheeks. However, it was pointed out to me that this kind of edit is not permitted by the group's rules. So here is a somewhat different crop of the image that I had toyed with before doing the semi-desaturated version.
Black stripes running trough red blood. Tears flashing reflections of the left light. Violence hurrying to the places desired.
A human observing the tragedy with a heart of stone.
keep that smile on a bad hair day!
shot inspired by Eva and her story here.
I know the focal point is not on the red it's self, but I intentionally shot it this way hoping the red would be an after thought after your eye scans the picture. When I look at this picture, I read it like I would a face, clockwise. I see the detail in the antique desk last. Doesn't the stain look red to you? Anyway...enjoy and let me know what you think
Red is my favorite color ever! I love red. Red lipstick, red nail polish, red! And it reminds me the first time I used a lipstick of this color, and a friend of mine said "Ok, congrats. Now you can't never ever again leave your house without this lipstick, did you understand?" (I didn't take it serious, but it was fun)
I took this photo today and I used the blur effect but it didn't help too much. And that's it
(Eugenia uniflora/ Surinam Cherry) Pitanga for us, Brazilians. The fruit is high in Vitamin C, and its predominant food use is as a flavoring and base for jams and jellies. We have a lot of pitangas here. If we don't eat, they fall and animals eat. I was not happy with the shot because I had just missed the ant checking around.
