About members
Welcome back Antonio Daniele, and cheers for Philip and Wertti who have started their second album
Call for January 2013 exhibition
We ask you to pick out the best picture of January from your own album and send the link in a PM to shoottell. Alternatively you can use our exhibition submissions forum thread to submit your picture.
For the January exhibition we would like to have the links by the end of January 31st at the latest. It will take a few days to put this together, so the exhibition will open the door around the 3rd of February 2013. We hope you all will join in and send your best photo that you would like to show a bit extra. If you find it difficult to decide what is your best picture, then let moderators to decide! We hope to see photos from all of us!
2012 statistics
12 months and 11 wonderful themes behind
Sky and Repetition themes were most inspiring, whereas Oddities theme probably was just most challenging. There also seems to be a growing trend towards end of the year 2012. Either our active members have became more active or we just managed to come up with good theme topics lately
Rules still exists
Spring cleaning
Once again it is time to check through albums and close down inactive ones. Please make sure you have at least four pictures per every month. Contact moderators if you wish to have a break and put your album on hold.
Although we quit of editing instructions, there still are some rules we need you to follow. First of all please read our group description that has pretty much been the same since this group was founded:
“The members of this group are addicted and devoted to sheer photography. We take pictures every day and want to develop through it.”
Do notice this is a photography group. In practise this means we require camera used as a tool to get images. Therefore we do not accept any other tools to create images. For example screen capture images are not accepted.
Since there are no more editing instructions, one can of course even “draw” something new into a photograph, but eventually all that you express here must be based on a photograph taken with a camera. One can of course bush the limits and take something like a totally white picture, and then start to draw on it on a picture editor. Or draw something on a computer, and then use camera to capture image of it.
But as said, one has to use camera in a way or another. And best way to assure it has happened is to use camera that records EXIF data like date etc. If EXIF data is missing from a picture, moderators will always become suspicious and may ask you to prove that camera has been used, and then may ask you to remove the picture if you can’t.
And then there of course are also rules about posting only pictures taken by you, and pictures that are recently taken. This again means that you can photograph pictures and things made by someone else, but you can not represent a picture if you have not taken the photograph of it. So, always make sure it is you who have pressed the camera button.
Changes in moderation team
Starting from February 2013 there should be following moderators helping you out with your albums, and taking care of monthly themes, news an exhibitions: Juques, Eva, Orlando, Thomas, Zdenko and Wertti. Elina is busy at work for awhile, and Sami goes back to sabbatical but will continue as an active member.
