This if for the Cooking Mama Challenge
! I thought of making these cheep cheeps
a while back. They are common characters to Nintendo's Mario series, but they never seem to get enough attention. So here they are, in all the demensions of reality! I hope I win that apron!!!
These are the ingredients and supplies I used! In the process of trying out my idea, I also needed a strainer and a toothpick (snapped in half). The bottle on the left contains whole peppercorns and the penguin salt and pepper shakers are a gift from my sister.
I am going for this retro style. First, I used a melon baller to scoop out eyes for the little guy. Then I cut wings, fins and lips. I cut slits in the tomato for each part to fit into. Then I hallowed out the bottom (This is where his white belly made of strained cottage cheese goes). I used a snapped in half toothpick to hold the eyes to the tomato. The cottage cheese should be strained so it doesn't leak all over the plate, and then mixed with salt and pepper to taste. Finally, I gently pressed the peppercorns into the apple to make the eyes complete! Tadaa! A cheep cheep! Yay! Thank God that worked, otherwise I would have had to think of something else to make!
More pictures soon! I have to go to work! Bye!

This is just a little note to let you know why I don't have time for many blog updates right now. It's the last three weeks of the semester and finals are the hardest part of the year for me. So, for right now, I am focusing on my homework as much as possible. I'm tired. -v-

Apparently, I've made The National Deans List for 2006-2007! I will be very happy if I win one of those fifty scholarships! According to the letter, I was nominated by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, of which I am a member and at the bottom of the letter it says:
Only 1/2 of 1% of our nation's college students receive this award. We commend you for your accomplishments.

Here is my plant, Pothos
! Still alive after 17 days
! He has grown larger and is beginning to hang over the edge of his pot now. I am concerned, however, about the leaf on the bottom right. Part of the leave has died and crumbled off. That happened in the first few days and it has not gotten worse. I am paranoid, though, because I really want Pothos
to live a long, full plant life. By the way I was tagged again by my new friend, Manatito
, but I am unable to participate in earnest because I do not have any music for my media player. Sorry Don Ruiz!

A little well-earned rest is what I would like to have, but don't.
Oh well, at least I got my test results in and I got an... A!!!!
I was going to paste a picture of pothos today to show you how he's doing, but I am so exhausted and I didn't get any sleep last night. As usual, I should be doing homework right now...
I guess I'll go work on it even though it will never actually be done and I'll be getting more on Wednesday.
If you want to cheer me up, join Penguins +!
When we have more members we will have super happy fun contests!

I have been tagged again and this time I have to list six pet peeves.
I don't know if I have six pet peeves!
1. When someone scrapes chalk or their fingernails on anything that makes that horrible goose pimpling screechy sound!
2. When lint collects on certain types of materials (especially my black velvets) and it just keeps recollecting, no matter how often and how much you clean it!
3. When people lick their fingers and touch the pages of other peoples books or any paper someone else is going to touch. Yuck!
4. This is more of a pet peeve against myself. I hate it when someone is talking to me, and suddenly I realize that I have stopped listening. It doesn't happen very often mind you: not at all in recent years, but it has happened and I feel horrible about it. Also, it means that other people probably do the same thing to me.
5. When someone burps repeatedly on purpose, just because they can.
6. While driving, when someone doesn't use their turn signal to merge into my lane.
Well, that's it! I'm not really much of a pet peeves person. The last three were almost impossible to come up with.[/FONT]

I am supposed to copy the fifth paragraph from page 123 from one of the books that I am reading currently (mosty for school). Do you know that most of my books do not HAVE a FIFTH paragraph on that page. My books have really long paragraphs, so for my third book I am going to give you the third paragraph.
First: The Message
A pocket paperback edition of the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs in contemporary language
This book was given to me by one of my dear aunts.
Appropriate, since it is nearing Holy Week
Second: Modern Spanish Prose: Literary Selections from Spain and Latin America Selected by Gustave W. Andrian, Sixth Edition
I have to read this book for my Spanish course, but I also love this book.
[From Luke 23] At that, the crowd went wild: "Kill him! Give us Barabbas!" (Barabbas had been thrown in prison for starting a riot in the city and for murder.) Pilate still wanted to let Jesus go. and so he spoke again.
Third: The Censors by Luisa Valenzuela
A bilingual selection of stories by the author of "He Who Searches" and "The Lizard's Tail
[From La siesta del martes by Gabriel García Márquez] El sacerdote la escrutó.
[From The Minstrels (Los menestreles)] The boy raised his head as soon as she spoke, but it was too late. He could only catch the last notes of her laugh, in which their was neither the pain nor the anguish that he liked to hear behind the gaiety.
My fourth tag was for Techie-Chat
and is in the forums.

=o I can't believe I was tagged four times in one day! One is a tech tag. Join techie-chat
to participate. Two of them are book tags and the other is the classic five things about you tag. I am going to get right on this when I wake up, but I am going to bed right now. I didn't get home until after 11 and I am sleepy after a long day. I had to work, I took a major exam and I got home to find out there is something wrong with my husband's truck. Night night you evil taggers! ^v^
