我的译文:A new survey in U.S. indicates that diamonds are no longer women’s favorites, three of four women prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.
The survey was commissioned by U.S. Oxygen CATV Network which was operated by women, it found that as most of women buying new technology products and using them smoothly, the difference between men and women in using technology products has almost disappeared.
The survey shows, a woman owns 6.6 technology products in average, and for men the number is 6.9. In addition, four out of five women can use technology products smoothly, 46 percent of women can deal with computer malfunction themselves.
The chairman and CEO of Oxygen Network Geraldine Laybourne said, “people always assume that women are not as advanced as men for using technology products. But now, I was supervised that women and men are nip and tuck in technology products.”
The survey named “women connect to technology” was held by TRU, a market research company, 1400 women and 700 men participated in totally, the age of them are between 15 and 49. the survey shows, if the women were given a chance, they prefer technology products to luxury items, such as jewelry or vacations.
The survey found 77 percent of women surveyed prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace; 56 percent prefer a new plasma TV to having a weekend vacation in Florida.
Even shoes were snubbed, the survey shows, 86 percent prefer a new digital camera to a pair of new-style shoes.
The survey shows, in the next five years, women set foot more and more in six technology field: digital cameras, cell phones, e-mail, video phones, short messaging, and instant messaging.
Laybourne said, the trend that women use more and more technology products was expected to continue..
