NIGHTWISH´s DVD End of an era, featuring their last concert with former singer Tarja Turunen, is available in Blu-Ray format in official Nightwish shop.
The concert was filmed on 21st of October 2005 in Hartwall arena in Helsinki, Finland and available on dvd for some time now. The blu-ray release contains everything that the dvd release already had and added some extras.

NIGHTWISH's latest album, "Dark Passion Play", was certified gold in Germany for sales in excess of 100,000 copies within a week of its release in September 2007.
NIGHTWISH recently topped the single chart in Finland with the band's latest release, "The Islander". The song's accompanying video was shot last autumn in Rovaniemi, Finland and was directed by Stobe Harju.

Sad news for the fans who were planning to go to the concert in Sayreville, NJ on May 5th. Unfortunately, the band has to cancel the show due to circumstances beyond their control. The only suitable cargo flight from Mexico has been cancelled, which means that there is no way to get the backline transported to the venue in time.
NIGHTWISH: AMSTERDAM SIGNING SESSION ANNOUNCED NIGHTWISH will take part in a signing session at the Hard Rock Café Amsterdam on March 20, one day before the band's concert in Amsterdam. The band will be present from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The signing session is a charity event. There will be an entrance fee which will go to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation in the Netherlands.
APOCALYPTICA TO PLAY FREE SHOW IN BULGARIA News.bg reports that APOCALYPTICA will open the tourism season in the coastal city of Kavarna (North East Bulgaria) with a free concert on 31 May. The show will take place on the central square of Bulgaria's metal capital. This will be the group's second visit to Bulgaria.

NIGHTWISH, MOKOMA and ARI KOIVUNEN were among the honorees at the Finnish Metal Awards, which took place last night (Friday, February 15) during the Finnish Metal Expo at Kaapelitehdas (Cable Factory) in Helsinki, Finland. Members of the general public were invited to cast their votes to select the winners, which were as follows:

NIGHTWISH's latest album, "Dark Passsion Play", has been certified gold in Germany for sales in excess of 100,000 copies. The award presentation took place on December 29, 2007 at the On A Dark Winter's Night Festival in Oberhausen, Germany, where NIGHTWISH played in front of 6,000 fans. "Dark Passion Play" has also been certified triple platinum in the band's home country of Finland, platinum in Switzerland, and gold in Sweden, Austria and Poland.
