Sitepatching updates

tweaking the broken code until it works, one site at a time

Maps and spreadsheets

Added patches

PATCH-383, Avoid sniffing that prevents itinerary lines on Google Maps. An update on Google's side caused some faulty sniffing. Temporary patch until they can push a fix.

PATCH-382, Google Spreadsheets cell size and column label size mismatch. Opera gets WebKit styling, while it should get Gecko styling - causing the gray areas and cell highlight mismatches.

PATCH-325, Y!Mail - improve browser sniff workaround.

PATCH-238, Override minmax IE helper script on yoka.com.

PATCH-325 means we can now access the "New Yahoo! Mail beta"?

Yes, should be the case. The Y!Mail site is however sometimes a bit confusing - I think it doesn't always show "try the All-New mail" link and it also seems a bit random if it served me the Classic or the previous "New" version.

Works fine for me.

Still, it's a big POS website and the worst mainstream webmail I've ever used. No one should be happy with the low quality of that site. Every other webmail is better in all ways. Even more, they treat Opera like crap and everyone should boycott them. (I've moved everyone I know to other mail providers a long time ago.)

The Google spreadsheet case is interesting. According to our sharpest CSS analysts, WebKit has a layout bug. Usually both WebKit and Opera follow the CSS standard really closely and can handle the same code, but in this case Opera and Gecko / Firefox do the right thing, so if Google gave us that specific part of the Gecko styling it would work.

Why there is no PATCH-383 for the 10.60?

Opera 10.60 is an older version, Opera 11.01 is the current

Could you please also fix this Google Spreadsheets issue?
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Docs/thread?tid=3ad1a4cd88aa9ced&hl=en

It seems PATCH-382 should have fixed it.
But I've just tried in Opera 11.10 (2064) after doing "Check for Updates" (bjsversion=' Opera Desktop 11.10 core 2.8.119, March 28, 2011 ') and restarting Opera - the problem is still there.

Or do I miss something?

That is a test version

11.01 is the current stable

So, no fixes for us, fellow "testers"?
That's a pity sad

sabio Friday, April 29, 2011 9:30:21 AM

I've just run "Check for updates" to update browser.js (it says now 'Opera Desktop 11.10 core 2.8.131, April 11, 2011') and I am using latest stable Opera 11.10 (2092) but Google Spreadsheets still have misplaced cell highlight.

I thought it should have been fixed by PATCH-382.
Why doesn't it work then?

sybilla012 Wednesday, October 5, 2011 9:33:14 AM

Hello,

I am the only one at work using opera and I still face sabio's dilemma:
http://habreffect.ru/files/be0/23deff817/Opera-Google-docs-bug.png
I am using opera 11.51 and the more spreadsheet is complicated, the more mismatches there is between cell selected and displaying.
Is there anything we missed?

Ola P. Kleivenolak Wednesday, October 5, 2011 10:11:58 AM

No, you didn't miss anything, PATCH-382 doesn't fix the increasing left-right mismatch, only a top-bottom mismatch.

Thank you for your answer.
