Sitepatching updates

tweaking the broken code until it works, one site at a time

Skydrive, Amazon ++

PATCH-657, skydrive: disable new upload code (thanks to burnout426) due to various Opera bugs as discussed in comments for previous post. Note that this should make it possible to upload/download files, but editing is still very much broken - due to browser sniffing. This patch is for 11.6x only, in the hopes that we'll get our act together and fix the issues properly in 12.

PATCH-656, Fix disabled buttons on KDDI Customer Support page. Sniffing.

PATCH-653, allegro.pl: cache plugin properties to avoid performance impact from short interval. Site has a 1ms interval that queries plugin properties. With the OOPPlugins in 12 this is slowing down the browser. Need to look into optimizing that, but for now deploy patch. 12.xx only.

PATCH-652, Fix displaying recommended items in Amazon. Missing onload for image inserted with innerHTML to element not part of document tree.

PATCH-651, jcpenney: avoid broken sniffer.

PATCH-650, Fix search suggestions on Goo search engine. Assumes IE based on currentStyle detection.

PATCH-649, Enable keyboard controls on Mapion. Browser sniffing.

Lots of new patchesCSS generated content

I will ask at Microsoft Answers about it - but what type of issues are there and where is the browser sniffing code?

Sniffing or Opera bug?

Just a reminder for if the Core developers think that CORE-46477 in Opera 12 build 1433 fixes the Skydrive file uploading - No it does not.

See http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=12373592 and consecutive posts.

We're well aware of that yes smile Skydrive exposes many bugs and some missing functionality. Right now we have the upload working in internal builds based on later Presto versions, but are having some trouble porting the fixes to 2.10.289.

Swapnil RustagiSwapnil99pro Wednesday, May 30, 2012 2:25:27 PM

You mean the Core team is going to sitepatch Skydrive for Opera 12 as well? sad Please, I won't have said anything if RC1 was ready - but I know it's not and even internally, the next build is NOT RC1.

I said we have some trouble, not that it was impossible wink
