There was a bug in the first version of the file (Suzuki PATCH-716 applied all over the place), new files coming soon.

Ola P. Kleivenolak Friday, July 6, 2012 12:09:22 PM

@Christoph - haven't had time to look yet.

Fixed files should be out now.

Call me dense, But i'm guessing these patches are done server side ?, i.e, No need for a downloadable snapshot update ?.

Ola P. Kleivenolak Friday, July 6, 2012 1:46:05 PM

Yes, the patch file is autoupdated regularly, independently of new browser versions. http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/

Charles SchlossChas4 Friday, July 6, 2012 1:48:23 PM

Target version and time stamp of the active browser.js file is Opera Desktop 12.00 core 2.10.289, July 6, 2012. Active patches: 211

http://mountaindew.com/ Seems to have sniffing, and the page layout changes based on the window size

Christophchristoph142 Friday, July 6, 2012 1:48:27 PM

Is it correct that it states "Opera Desktop 12.00 core 2.10.289, July 6, 2012. Active patches: 211" even though I'm using 12.50 core 2.11.310?!

Ola P. Kleivenolak Friday, July 6, 2012 1:57:57 PM

12.50 will get its own file later, I just haven't bothered yet wink Marlin is still very young.

Someone on the desktop blog is complaining about Zimbra problems. http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/show.dml/50579562?startidx=50#comment92283932

Also my father has problems with his Godaddy email which is either Zimbra or horde, it prevents him from attaching files.

And Verizon is using Zimbra via yahoo that nags about Opera being to old.

I'm working on a development which uses Mootools (1.4) - All has been fine until the last few days.

I did some digging and it turns out it's a browser.js update - I know this because if I set opera:config#Browser%20JavaScript to 0 it all works again while setting to 1 or 2 causes the script to fail.

Unfortunately I've no idea how to work out which update to browser.js is causing the issue... Any ideas?

The error: -

Uncaught exception: TypeError: Cannot convert 'c' to object

Error thrown at line 127, column 142 in <anonymous function: combine>(c) in http://********/js/mootools/mootools-more-1.4.0.1.js:

orangepeel: sorry about that, I made a mistake in the last file as part of PATCH-724 , we will push an update as soon as possible.

orangepeel Wednesday, July 11, 2012 11:31:58 AM

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. up

The new July 12-file contains a bugfix for the issue mentioned above (PATCH-724 applied too broadly, breaking some Mootools installs) and a slight tweak to PATCH-623 to make it apply to more Terra subdomains.

orangepeel Friday, July 13, 2012 9:47:39 AM

Thanks Ola, setting opera:config#Browser%20JavaScript to 1, checking for updates the back to 2 fixed my mootools install.

Thanks again

peel.

Ola P. Kleivenolak Friday, July 13, 2012 1:45:36 PM

Well, you are entitled to be annoyed with me for introducing such a silly mistake, but I'm happy it works again smile

Sanford Aranoffsanforda Sunday, July 15, 2012 6:07:49 PM

I cannot get the latest browser.js.

"Opera downloads the file automatically once a week, but if you want to make absolutely sure you have the latest file you can follow these steps:
Go to the Browser JavaScript setting and change the value to 1.
Click the "Save" button below the setting.
Use Help > Check for updates in Opera's menu bar."

Did this. Still have a very old browser.js.

That's odd.. Do you see the JavaScript code if you go here?
