JEREMY FISH X AESOP ROCK X MILK

Here is the video for the Aesop Rock song Pigs. It takes place at the bar next door to Skates On Haight ( Milk ) and the art work is by Jeremy Fish. I'm putting this up not only because its bad ass but also because Pat and I got to watch a little.

In that same box, I found these pictures of some Mike Giant graffiti from the early '90s. His style has changed but its still pretty ill.

Look What I Found

I was digging through a box last night and found these pictures from the late 80's. A young Mike Vallely hamming it up at a Gadzooks (when they sold skateboards), Tony Magnusson getting air with Mike McGill watching and Christian Hosoi doing a christ air. Fun times.

Natas Kaupas

, ,

Almost every day, someone asks us if we have any Natas decks. Well, the fact of the matter is there aren't any. There is however, Natas' company DESIGNARIUM.This company is sponsoring and giving models to artists instead of skaters. Each board is a kind of limited edition fine art print. It's a way of recognizing and celebrating skateboard culture, not just skateboarding itself. So basically, Designarium makes boards that you want to hang on your wall. The bad thing is the time between each release can feel like forever (last time it was two years). The word going around is that the next release will be a reissue of an early Natas deck. Art work from Wes Humpston, signed and numbered. Can't wait. Anyways, here is a great video about Natas:

del Sol/ La Raza Skatepark

Photos from del Sol/ La Raza Skatepark on July 4th.

while i am at it

i was also a huge fan of Axl Rose when i was in high school in japan. sure i loved guns n roses' music and still love welcome to the jungle album, but i was in love with axl.
so i found out about a fan club in a magazine, but this was pre-internet era. so what did i do? i snail mailed a fan club fee to the fan club in the states. i was not sure if i would get anything back, but surprisingly enough, i got a catalog back!
did i buy anything from the catalog? you bet! i bought posters, stickers, picks and so on. it was also pre-credit card era in japan, so i was sending them a money order!

anyway, this photo is somewhat appropriate for this blog since he is holding a skateboard.

why do we have this picture here?

well, i don't know. but my friend forwarded it to me and it is funny, so i am posting it here.
i was a big fan of nirvirna, for me as a girl, the fact kurt cobain was good looking didn't hurt.
anyway, why is this funny? because you just don't associate him and a bear. but somebody did.
