Americans can not live without Nutella. Am I right?

slackwrdave 20. April 2008, 06:37

I thought Nutella was more of a "foreign" thing. I just recently bought my first jar because someone here on my opera was talking about it last month. I haven't tried it yet.

MIKE124 20. April 2008, 06:45

you know, my kids love it but i have never eaten it. And what about peanut butter? Americans cant live without it. Is it true?

slackwrdave 20. April 2008, 06:55

I do like peanut butter. I've found a better product lately called Sunbutter. It's like peanut butter but is made from sunflower seeds. It tastes good and has no hydrogenated oils or other additives. Just a tad expensive.

word-tad- is the new one in my vocabulary, i had to open my dictionary to find the meaning of that word. Thanks for it.

slackwrdave 20. April 2008, 07:20

Yer welcome! "tad" is a slightly strange word I guess.

Here are a couple of websites that can be fun for a little while for learning new words. After a few weeks it will sometimes get boring. Both of these send you a regular e-mail after you confirm subscription:

Here's another use of the word "tad", plus the addition of the word "nippy". Nippy is a word you use when it is a little bit cold outside. So to be cute and to refine the meaning as it just being a little little bit cold out, I often hear people say this:

--
How is it outside?

It's a tad nippy.
--

Sounds a tad funny!

MIKE124 21. April 2008, 06:02

I know the other meaning of the word"nippy"- quick, sharp, active. F.e. nippy waitress means quick waitress. Is it right? Or i got it all wrong? Have you ever think of becoming a teather?

slackwrdave 22. April 2008, 00:10

Hey!

I've never heard the word "nippy" used in that way, but it may be a regional thing I don't know about.

Maybe you are thinking of the word "snippy"? I think a snippy waitress would be one who is slightly a bitch, lol.

My friend here just told me to tell you that a nippy waitress is one whose nipples can be seen.....but that's not true!

I wouldn't mind teaching, and I almost got my certification one time. It was for Spanish. I lost interest in teaching just after that. awww

I think I like words a lot. I subscribe to both of those lists I liked to the other day. Sometimes the lists get too tedious and I just delete them.

MIKE124 22. April 2008, 05:23

I can not rely on my dictionary anymore. I like that thing about nipples that can be seen. I realised that if you want to learn language, and learn it good, you should go to the USA. Mission impossible.:D

slackwrdave 22. April 2008, 12:19

You can always go to England, but then your English would forever sound funny.

If you ever come to the usa, my house is your house, though my house is very small. :frown: I do, however, like my little house. I don't need a big one.

If you *HAVE* to see those nipples, there is an annual festival in Nevada called Burningman that you might like. We went in 2004 and want to go again as soon as we can. It's art, music, dancing, socializing, fire, nudity, anything-you-want, all in the desert of Nevada with over 30,000 other people.

We put some of our photos here on flickr. A lot of the pics are our trip there and back, so skip to the middle to see more of the scene.

We towed our travel trailer (I think the English call it caravaning) there from North Carolina, which was nearly the length on the entire country. My pick-up truck uses a lot of fuel when towing the trailer. In 2004 our roundtrip fuel cost was $950. Now it will cost us almost $3000. We're not sure what to do. Maybe try to save money for another year, or take more people with us.

Still thinking on it.

MIKE124 22. April 2008, 15:27

Sounds interesting. What can be better than travelling through the country?

Aqui tenemos una joven italiana un poco chiflada por la NUTELLA.

¡Gracias Dedo!
