what's that?

it-wasnt-me 31. March 2008, 17:58

It is just a torrent client ... Am I wrong ? .... or something which yuo use to download music ...

This one is Amarok, which I use to organize and play music files. I also use it to sync up my portable media player with my hard drive. It will pull in streams, shoutcast, etc.

For torrents, I sometimes use Ktorrent. There's a pic of Ktorrent in this same album.

Amrok is my favouristest (creating new words is a special hobby! P:) media player.

Heres a screener of mine:
amarok, linux

Nice!

It's good to see the wolf can howl again. there were a few issues with amarok on kde a few years back.
I was in despair as it was my favourite music organiser.

slackwrdave 8. December 2008, 22:31

It's my favorite music organizer/player/finder, but it's so DOG slow to open up. It handles LastFM so nicely.

daxonmacs 8. December 2008, 22:49

There's a way to have it open faster though. prelinking, but I can't help you anyfurther. There should be information.
I know yoper linux at the time used prelink to boost kde and kde apps launch times effectively.
Ah yoper, those were the days ...
