for english - oprima el uno

, , ,

Continuing on with things seen on cars recently, today I saw the following words on a bumpersticker:

Why should I have to press "1" for English?

Oh well! It's the world we live in. There's no guarantee that things will always be the same.

I once had some business with a bank in Puerto Rico. English was option "2" there.

Arizona is full of those 'press 1' bumper stickers. I think I'd rather stick on something funny to make people laugh.

I almost bought a sticker that said "Support the arts and buy one of my paintings" but decided $5 was too much.

I lived out there in the early 90's and Sheriff J. A. was there then, too. What a political machine. I think it was there where I read back then that the department had a dog named the "n-word". That was only stopped after wide exposure in the media. I also hear that the department does its best to scare and intimidate the non-English speaking population, which means that a good part of the people will fail to call for help when needed or report crimes.

There was a similar flashy "media" sheriff in a county south of me for years. He was known as the tough badass. It did reduce some types of crime. People wouldn't even speed in that county. The department was gutted and the sheriff discharged after their drug trafficking activities were revealed.

I often wonder why this is an elected office anyway.

I love it! Maybe you can get one later.

There are alot of people here that love him. I've got mixed emotions now because I think he's going overboard with his sweeps. At the beginning, it was a good thing because he caught alot of coyotes. These coyotes didn't care about their own people, gouged them of what little money they had, left them in the middle of the desert, or kept them locked in drop houses packed like sardines for days.

Our Sheriff is in his early seventies so maybe he'll be retiring soon.

What about my friend's rental truck!
'Call the owner if you like my driving
Or
Call me if you don't like my driving.'
