kubuntu, 9.10, xubuntu, linux, bittorrent, distro, linnucks, os, karmic koala, upgrade, operating system, computer, ubuntu
I
talked about this the other day. I'm off from work all this week, so I have little to do but wait on a distro upgrade of Ubuntu/Xubuntu/Kubuntu. I guess it's better than sitting around drunk.
Laissez le téléchargement commencer! (The French courtesy of
Babelfish. Looks good doesn't it!)
Already got 'er flowing in on bittorrent. Then I can
do my CD-less install. Then I'll copy the iso file to a flash drive and carry it around to all the computers in my life.

Nice license, huh! Download once, install as many times as you like. Do what you want. Have your way with it.

Hehehehe... By the way... that I like of Ubuntu... scheduled releases... very nice... I think I read somewhere that Debian is planning the implementation of a similar scheme.
It takes away some of the excitement of a Debian Release... but... let's see...

That was "use as you like."

This doesn't apply to you, Shaunak, but I have many friends in Vietnam and Russia who like to practice their English with me on IM's. They will make small typos or use slightly incorrect words or syntax. They will get frustrated with themselves and start to say that their English sucks. I always say, "no man, you're conveying meaning just fine.....keep going! We'll work on those little details later."
I've had many Mexicans use excellent fuzzy logic to decrypt my Spanish over the years. My decryption and fuzzy logic skills in English are top of the line in return.

One of the machines has had a long upgrade history: Ubuntu converted to Kubuntu, then 2 upgrades of Kubuntu, then conversion to Xubuntu, then 2 upgrades of that. You're supposed to be able to upgrade Debian and the *buntus forever, but there comes a time when it's just sweeter to wipe and do a virginal install. I've been meaning to put my "/home" directory on a separate partition for years, so this will be a good time to do that, too.

Getting ready to wipe, repartition, and reinstall. It's a little frightening, lol. One false keystroke, or misreading which drive is which, and it's all over.
