wild halloween party not-that-regrettable behavior
Sunday, 1. November 2009, 07:52:00
It was a fun and rowdy Halloween party. So many, including myself, got a little out of line, but not so bad that there will be regrets in the morning.
Sometimes it boils down to:
I'd hate to tell anyone that their main competition was a frozen pizza. Tonight turned out to be pizza night.
Sometimes ya just get hungry.
Sometimes it boils down to:
- do you wanna go fool around?
- or do I just want to go home and eat that pizza in the freezer.
I'd hate to tell anyone that their main competition was a frozen pizza. Tonight turned out to be pizza night.

I could also go for a walk across to Tijuana.
Today is heavy lunch day to combat the slightly excessive beer swilling from last night. I was not the driver last night, so I was able to drink "a gusto."

In the USA, LA is truly good. All the years I went clubbing in Mexico, after the bar closed, we'd all run to the all-night taqueria. Those were some good tacos.
Same thing when I hung out with a Mex crowd in LA. Bar, then gorging on tummy tacos in the middle of the night. It was great.
It was funny in Guadalajara, Mexico, years ago when I was more into dancing all night. Drinking beer makes me hungry anyway, then thrashing around on a dance floor makes it even worse. The big bar in Guadalajara is called Monica's. When it closed like at 4am, there'd be probably 30 taxis lined up out front. Most of them would fill up with passengers heading to the best taco place across town called Taqueria Minerva. Everybody was going there, so it was no problem to cram into a car with 6 other people. The road to Minerva was a 6-lane wide boulevard called Vallarta. It looked so funny to see a platoon of taxis racing down it at 4am full of hungry disco people. Then, when you got to Taqueria Minerva, it would be packed! Everywhere you looked there would be scantily clad disco boyz, preppy types, lesbians, and drag queens, all ramming down those tacos with juice running down their faces. Then, you could run off to a house party if you wanted.
I could do these things easily when I was 25. Now I'd have to sleep all the afternoon before, take a fair amount of Pepto, and sleep for a day and a half afterwards.
Oh well, at least somehow I came out of all of it speaking Spanish. I'm still not quite sure how it happened. Sometimes people ask me how I learned it. I usually say, "I'll try to tell ya, but I don't completely recommend this method."
