bonding, love, food
It would be uncountable how many meals we've had together.

Pit stop in Columbia, South Carolina: fried chicken, collards, squash casserole, iced tea. Best restaurant fried chicken I ever had.

We got some cheap little noodle bowls for late-night snacks. Right on the label it says, "serving suggestion - top with grilled shrimp."
Oh yeah, right! Maybe I need a side of
New York Strip to go with it.
These are just little noodle snacks meant to calm down the beer munchies at 3 AM. There's not a chance in hell that I'm going to have a steak, or grilled shrimp, casually lying around as a topping.
Well, on the other hand, I have been to post-bar parties where someone has yanked hundreds of dollars worth of steaks out of the freezer and thrown them on a triple wide gas grill as the sun was coming up. Maybe they regretted it after sobering up, but the guests ate well!

At last, organic instant oatmeal that tastes good. Many of the products at the health food store taste dag nasty, but not these. I bought a carton of flax milk the other day just to see, and it was insipid.
The significance of the "organic" label may not last all that long now. Manufacturers push hard to get just one more little thing approved and still call it organic. Maybe one day the Big Mac will carry the label.
I rarely buy the Quaker brand anymore since the day I saw Quaker instant grits with imitation ham bits on the shelf. Just seeing the package made my stomach quiver. The ingredients list reminded me of the periodic table of the elements.
These are yummy:

I'm pleased to have found this place in Charlotte, North Carolina. They have Honduran, Guatemalan, and Salvadorian food. At least it's different. The Mexican places are all the same. They can stamp a thousand different names on them, but it's always the same damned menu. This Honduran place is unique and good.
I'm a sucker for anything Latin-American. *wink*

I might be a Mexican trapped inside a
gringo body.
Here's my Honduran dinner while I waited for the 5 o'clock traffic to clear in Charlotte today.

There's an
honest-to-goodness pub in the downtown of
my city. The menu and beer/lager/ale selection are stellar, plus it's just a fun place to be.
This afternoon, one diner in my party ordered what is seen in the picture below, a meatloaf sub with
Tater Tots. It seemed bizarre to me and made me laugh. That's drinkin' (or whatever) food!
