Hancock

,

Today I went to the cinema to see new hero-movie - Hancock.
And I admit it got me by surprise. I half-expected a p*ss-take of all typical hero-movies like Superman or Batman. And that's how Hancock begins.
But also he's a drunk, looks, dresses and probably smells like 'typowy zul z Centralnego'. And is hated by most people because of the way he deals with the challenges.

It's all until this PR guy is saved from a sure death and in gratitude he decides to change Hancock's image. He invites him home and introduces to his family. And that's where plot starts twisting and turning.
All the movie's mysteries are explained enough without going into too much details, jokes are good, there is just enough special effects.
The movie is in general watchable and funny and doesn't make you feel like you lost 10 quids for nothing(especially it was quite heavily advertised).

Batman's grand, I mean the first two and the last part. Batman's cool. I mean, he's the best of all this bunch. Putting Batman and Superman in one sentence indicating they're similar is a blasphemy

Besides, you wouldn't have been surprised if you had seen a trailer ;P

ok, ok I admit, Superman is kind of more for children - he's goody, goody and Batman is dark and has skeletons in his closet. What I meant is they are both superheroes but ok:

'I half-expected a p*ss-take of all typical hero-movies like Superman or Captain Planet.'

I've seen the trailer and loved Hancock's rough appearance, tought he won't be like others but was expecting he will turn into a 'good' one type of hero and fun Will end there with him saving our world from asteroid or sumethin'.

Sadly the premise of the movie was looking really good and everything was going fine up until Will Smith got paid and suddenly movie rating was changed from R to PG13, rough edges polished, (anti-)hero cleaned up and the whole project turned out ot be another summer feel-good movie (aka. another Will Smith flick).

Drozdal: at least movie is not too typical: there's no powerfull oponent or 'threat from the sky', no typical 'last battle' and triumph of the main character. It saves this movie from being a bore... IMHO ;P
