Today I went to the cinema to see new hero-movie - Hancock. And I admit it got me by surprise. I half-expected a p*ss-take of all typical hero-movies like Superman or Batman. And that's how Hancock begins. But also he's a drunk, looks, dresses and probably smells like 'typowy zul z Centralnego'. And is hated by most people because of the way he deals with the challenges.
It's all until this PR guy is saved from a sure death and in gratitude he decides to change Hancock's image. He invites him home and introduces to his family. And that's where plot starts twisting and turning. All the movie's mysteries are explained enough without going into too much details, jokes are good, there is just enough special effects. The movie is in general watchable and funny and doesn't make you feel like you lost 10 quids for nothing(especially it was quite heavily advertised).
Can you imagine a movie where the main character is of alien race, his arch enemy is another alien(literally speaking) and people are just lesser prey and background? Movie where you shouldn't feel attached to any of human characters as he/she may be dead in the next scene?
What is strange it's better than first part where we've seen 'brave predator fighting bad alien with a woman on his side'. The new movie is almost 'blasphemous' 'casue in most cases directors avoid letting children 'get hurt'. In 'Alien' quadrology only 'grown ups' die - children are 'protected' and survive along with brave Sigourney. Here - not anymore. To make it look even worse(?) aliens walk through hospital's maternity unit. Of course there are no survivors. My friend said: 'The only thing that could make it more 'blasphemous' is predator burning down a church'. There's lot of blood and fighting and shooting. Although on the very beginning one can doubt predator can fight off all aliens (he acts like a pu$$y and seems too 'soft').
Movie ends in a way hard to predict. But as for me it could have ended when the screen goes dark at some stage. Anyway I definetely don't regret not seeing Johnny Depp.
I was surfing the net and found this movie. I've seen it before but it's so hilarious I couldn't stop myself from putting it here. The movie is around 8 yrs old but still shows exactly how does helpdesk job looks like. Scary!
