51-20 Where Are You

Wow, who woulda' thunk it? Today we got about 6 inches of snow in South Alabama. I went out and started my car early and the kids and I were playing and I heard the bedlam coming from the radio. I decided that it would probably be a good idea for me to leave and start in to work to help with all the wrecks that were going on. As soon as I radioed dispatch to advise that I was starting my shift the sheriff called and told me to go to dispatch and help out there because we only had one working. Man what a drag, I spent the first half of my shift inside with no windows to watch the snow fall. When the other dispatcher arrived, I still had to hang around the jail for another hour. Finally I got some freedom. I went and visited the city police dept. and got some free food courtesy of my paw in law, then I went and visited one of the other deputies and he was making the biggest snow man I have ever seen. I promise it was at least 7 ft tall. Tomorrow I have to work security at the hospital, so I am catching a ride in with my paw in law and he is leaving at 2 am, can you believe the insanity. We just blame his retarded chief. Now to get off and shower and get ready for bed, oh the glories.
