Quite a busy week

We have had quite a busy week. First we found out that our furnace was no longer functional when we tried to have our annual service done. Ok, so we have to buy a new furnace.
That's expensive especially around this time of year. But we were good consumers; we called to get four quotes from different contractors that were recommended through friends/coworkers. We found a way to finance it without making ourselves totally without cash before Christmas. Then we arranged to have the furnace installed. That was done on Friday (note to self, never install any major appliance the day before the weekend). Apparently, one of the workman was in a hurry and forgot to tighten the gas line at the shutoff. We went out for dinner for an hour and came back to an urgent situation of strong gas odors in the house, and our animals had been breathing this. The contractor had someone there within 30 minutes-whew disaster averted. (Another note to self-don't be in the room right above the furnace when you've had a gas leak. It will make you nauseous and vomit.) Then we opened all the windows and kicked the attic fan on to pull the fumes out of the house. After pulling all the outside air in, the house is now 65 degrees and we just got a new furnace. 
To top it all off, the contractor didn't bring the right air filter with him when he installed the furnace, so the boss had to come back on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. to swap out the filter. (Like I had nothing better to do on a Saturday morning than wait around for a filter.) In the midst of all of this, I am currently working on a database implementation project at my job, so I have been working lots of hours and had plans to be working on it this weekend. I have to upload data to our consultant on Monday morning so everything that was on my "to do" list this week (not to mention all the household stuff I have to do) needed to be completed by Sunday evening and the program keeps giving me errors whenever I try to edit field choices and won't let me save.
Whew, I am really tired.
