Truly Saddened

,

Its been two days since I heard the news of Arturo Gatti's passing. What a fantastic competitor in the sport of boxing and what a horrible way to leave this world. I don't understand what's wrong with people lately. We've had so many senseless deaths due to drugs or jealous rages. If you're that unhappy in a relationship---JUST LEAVE!!! Don't kill. Now their child has to grow up without parents. Selfish arseholes. I hate petty, shelfish, small minded people. We're gonna miss you Arturo - Nough said.

Life without my phone

It has been about two months now without a land line and so far I really haven't missed it. So far my only mishaps have been when I walk out of the house without my cell phone. Last night I needed to run some errands and accidently left my phone on the charger. I was gone a lot longer than I had intended and my husband tried to reach me only to have my phone ring at the house. Oops! Other than that, I think its been a very economincal move on our part. When I upgrade to a new phone next year, I've decided that I don't want a touch front phone and it MUST support Opera. Those are my main criteria; but if it comes in purple that would be cool too.

Best of Memphis - Delta Saturn

Delta Saturn is playing at WC Handy Pavilion in Memphis and I'm having a ball with my hubby.
This was our first night in Memphis. My husband and I both made the observation that no where in this country that I know of can you see people from so many different backgrounds, ages, races just hanging out in an open park dancing together and having fun and enjoying what great blues music can bring out in people.

Long Holiday Weekend

So far, this has been a much needed relaxing holiday weekend. Friday, I spent the day with my hubby doing some shopping and preparation for our barbecue on Saturday. We had a couple friends over and met a new person, which turned out surprisingly well. One of my girlfriends brought a date with her and he got along wonderfully with us and my pets. The barbecue sort of turned into a beer tasting event which was great fun. I never thought I liked beer until I tried some of the belgian beers that he brought with him; now I'm hooked. They are wonderful; they have a much more full flavored taste then any of the american junk the big breweries put out.

Today, I am just hanging around the house, doing some yard work, and relaxing with my animals. AND it's not over yet, I still have a whole other day off tomorrow! I could use more of these kinds of weekends throughout the year. Definitely good for recharging the old batteries.
