So what is it about people driving and handling their personal hygiene on the way to work. Do they think there is an invisible forcefield around their cars that no one can see them??? Seriously. I saw a man this morning (no lie) trimming his nose hairs while at the stop light. His nose hairs--oooh yuck! I felt like waving my hands at him and yelling, "Hey, I can see you doing that---Yuck" Are you really in that much of a hurry or that late in the morning that you have to do that in the car...really?? OMG now I have seen it all.

Attacking my Jungle

I have a jungle of weeds in my back yard that has been taking over the last few months. I haven't had the time to get out there and weed and I don't like using a lot of chemicals in my yard because of my pets. So this weekend, my husband and I decided to start attacking it with a vengeance. My husband (believe it or not) is much better at weeding than I am. He seems to be better able to get right down to the ground and pull the roots where I seem to do better with a hand trowel. So between the two of us we managed to get our front walkway looking much better. I plan to spread some mulch around the stepping stone tonight. Last night, we started on the area by our back patio. It already is much improved. The last garden spot in the back will take the longest as it is a rock garden which is very frustrating when trying to weed. But, never fear--the internet saves the day again. I looked up some natural weed killers on the internet and who knew vinegar could be useful for so many things. It can dress your salad AND kill your weeds. It says to be very careful where you spray it as it will kill everything, not just weeds. So I plan on using a paint brush and getting everything cut as close to the ground as possible and then painting vinegar on them. Plus it also said that sugar will kill stubborn weeds (it sends their little systems into hyperdrive and basically short circuits them - dead is dead, that's all I care.) I have several of these little volunteer weed trees that have roots anchored in China which are impossible to even get a shovel on in amongst all the rocks-so sugar it is. Once the killing spree is over I plan to invest in some landscape fabric and new edging. I will be victorious!! :-)

Its been two days since I heard the news of Arturo Gatti's passing. What a fantastic competitor in the sport of boxing and what a horrible way to leave this world. I don't understand what's wrong with people lately. We've had so many senseless deaths due to drugs or jealous rages. If you're that unhappy in a relationship---JUST LEAVE!!! Don't kill. Now their child has to grow up without parents. Selfish arseholes. I hate petty, shelfish, small minded people. We're gonna miss you Arturo - Nough said.

Life without my phone

It has been about two months now without a land line and so far I really haven't missed it. So far my only mishaps have been when I walk out of the house without my cell phone. Last night I needed to run some errands and accidently left my phone on the charger. I was gone a lot longer than I had intended and my husband tried to reach me only to have my phone ring at the house. Oops! Other than that, I think its been a very economincal move on our part. When I upgrade to a new phone next year, I've decided that I don't want a touch front phone and it MUST support Opera. Those are my main criteria; but if it comes in purple that would be cool too.
