Some Progress
Erhm, I mean, today is another Monday I don't have to go to school (yay). Anyway, this weekend I made some progress on the design of my school website. I'm actually going to be using the school colors, which is nice, but it isn't going to look all crappy like all the alumni sites I've seen (the colors are blue and gold--kind of hard to work with). It actually has a bit of a classic look, which is cool too. I'm trying to work out what major categories my content is going to fall under (e.g. Academics, Athletics, etc.), now, which is pretty tough since it's a public school and I'm still not exactly sure what's going to be on the site.

I also was able to make lots of progress on a widget. Unfortunately, I'm putting of my chess widget for now so that I can practice my widget-making in a more comfortable department--date and time, in this case. So, you guessed it. I'm making a clock. It's been done, you say. Boring. Right? Well, not so much for me. I'm not cheating and just making it in Flash, and I'm not being lame and making it do only one thing. This widget is going to have three modes, three functions, and support for time zones and multiple skins. So far I've basically got the analog clock done (for the basic time function). I need to add the day of the week and date and improve the hands a bit, but I'm going to start working on my digital mode first.

Hopefully I can get the rest of my widget to appear as clean and professional as that.
