Like A Teapot

"Enlightened or not, it is all the very same. Have a cup of tea! "

Sleepy

, ,

Local broadcast of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony started at 5:00 AM. I fell asleep without seeing the Canadian team's entrance, let alone the Chinese team who was the last. The order of team entrance puzzled me at first, but I soon realized that it was based on the number of strokes in the Chinese characters for the name of the country. In sleepiness I observed that some teams were all relaxed and charming, while others were way too serious. I liked Team Ukraine and Team Danmark, for examples. I was also struck by the number of good looking faces among the athletes.

I have more to say about this event, but I have not recovered from the messed up biological clock.

I hope you find some way to view it, it's spetacular and well worth it. I managed to see what I missed in a French version.

@matt: yes mostly pretty and happy faces, but also the heavily trained Schwarzenegger facial features popped up and I don't really like them.
But overall yes, most were goodlooking and happy, proud, that's the best make-up imo.

I watched and recorded the ceremony for my youngest daughter who is visiting London and her older sisters who lives and work there. I hope they live there 2012 when the olympics comes to London. In London hopefully one of my pupils will compete in Judo. He is very talanted but to young this year. Weights 130 kilo.

130 kilo? How old is that pupil anyway? I bet he was wearing his shoes when then took his weight.

I also suspect there will be a dvd released with the complete openings ceremony.
At least I hope so.

i dozed a bit through the opening ceremony but saw most of it. for instance i caught the announcement about the strokes in the chinese characters being their ordering 'alphabet' interesting.

but i was totally absorbed and inspired by the ending. that guy flying around the 'birdsnest' illuminating the 360 degree video screen and then lighting the enourmous torch at the end of his running in the air... totally cool. i am so glad i recorded it.

The guy is 20 years old and 200 cm tall. He is big  and very, very kind. He has made very good results in competitions last year.

The end is based on a Chinese fable about a man chasing the sun.
