Like A Teapot

July 1 is Canada Day, our national holiday. I am celebrating it in a newly acquired solid rocking chair.

I popped into a thrift shop last night three minutes before closing and spotted this fantastic cane and wood rocking chair. It was love at first sight. After glancing at the price which is a bit steep but still quite reasonable, I sat down and rocked it a few times despite the loudspeaker urging people to leave or pay up. It felt heavenly. I decided to photograph it where it was. At this point I heard foot steps approaching. The night shift manager, a conscientious young man, tactfully waited for me to finish shooting before making a remark. I informed him of my intention and he helped me with first carrying the chair to the register and then trying hard to fit it into my car.
