Like A Teapot

"Enlightened or not, it is all the very same. Have a cup of tea! "

Thursday dinner

This Japanese restaurant serves California rolls with real crab meat. The dish was a special last Thursday night. I decided to give a try. Frankly, the crab meat does not taste any better than the usual fake one. But I had a dining experience in this formal, authentic Japanese restaurant. The service was very good.

That's a nice looking place.
The dish looks like an hors d'œuvre, but delicious, nevertheless.

You notice the colour of the marinated ginger? It is not the usual orange one. Very tender and delicious. Better without the colouring. The Chinese make ginger this way too. It is great for opening appetite.

I didn't know that was ginger.
That's looking good!

That is real Japanese green tea they serve there. Very delicious. By the way, I sat in the center part of the restaurant, next to that bald man, on this side of the partition.

I never had it, unfortunately.
I'll look for it in Chinatown, they have a whole Japanese section, too.

I did read on Japanese tea ceremony.
An article that favoured the Chinese though, stating the Japanese rather performed the ceremony, for ceremony's sake and that the Chinese did it for the quality of the tea.
Quite a complicated ceremony or ritual, by the way.

He had a cut too, eh?

Fortunately I did not see that before I finished eating. It is a tad bit too shiny.

Mind you, that tea could be expensive in stores.

I'll only buy a single leaf, then :D

Looks nice - Japanese food perfection, I guess :chef:
Now where's the bottle of sake? :drunk:

Haha, waiting for you to order it for me.

It looks like a nice place. It seems they try to give each table more privacy than most restaurants. Were the plants real?

Bob: I think the bamboos are real, although I did not really pay attention when I was there. In Asia, you would find a lot of the larger restaurants designed like a garden, with ponds and all.
