Adding orange to gray

What best can you do on a depressive gray October day in west coast Canada? Buy a live crab, stir-fry it with ginger and green onion, and have a feast.

Both dungeness crabs and wild chum salmons are cheap in October, but I prefer crab anytime.

I don't have much experience eating crab, and I haven't learned the proper way to eat them. So I shy away from them, unless they've been turned into crab cakes. But if I you were here, I'd have you show me how to get the crab meat out.

I am under the impression that it is gray a lot during the winter in British Columbia.

We have had a lot of gray, rainy days here during the month of October. I think it is supposed to be the wettest on record. At least it's not snowing yet.
We have never cooked a crab. Live ones are not easy to find. A few stores offer lobster. Some restaurants here offer crab legs but seldom the entire crab.
Your blog often makes me hungry.:chef:

The crab looks delicious.
I need to go to the fishmonger, for it reminds me of my appetite for langouste.
It was my understanding one could just "suck out" the meat, Deb.

I'm picturing myself at a restaurant "sucking out" the meat, pausing to explain that Danny said it was okay. And it probably is okay; I just wouldn't know what the heck I was doing.

It's allowed to be eaten with your hands, even in restaurants.
I recall it being served with a bib, for the customer.
You tell'm I said so, Deb
