Finally

, ,

It has been a turbulent few weeks. The Olympic game served as a big distraction. The sticky hot weather seems to have passed for the year. I am sleeping more regularly, feeling better, and looking better. I cut my own hair again and it looks better than before. I am taking Chinese medicine for my stomach problem and it has started working. Should have cut my hair and started the medicine sooner.

I finally embedded the Olympic theme song to the pertinent post. Sorry it took that long. I know people from different parts of the world revisited my lyric page for the song because I said I would try to upload it later. First it took nearly two weeks for my brother to pass along the music file. Then I had trouble uploading it to my opera files. Then the code given to me by a trusted friend did not work. I had to do my own research and use a different set of code found on the Internet.

Just a quick update

Just installed Opera 9.5.2. Interesting that people kept reporting security issues leading to new fixes. You would have thought that they fixed these a while ago. Of course, they added new features, too.

It has been cool and raining all week. It is fine for me. Looks like this luck will at least last till the first half of next week. That is even better. I cannot stand the heat experienced last week.

Have been using some Chinese herbal plaster for my sprained ankle. It promotes blood circulation. But it has a smell that seems to also promote sleep. It is not bad. Kind of soothing and I sort of like it. I guess that is why I have been more sleepy than usual in the past two days. The weather helps, too.

Am looking forward to the closing ceremony of the Olympia. Hope I won't miss anything this time.

An interesting week

, ,

This is an interesting week. Tuesday October 9 was the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Che Guevara, an inspiring Marxist revolutionary hero of Latin America. The handsome dude is a Gemini and a cigar lover. He was captured on October 7, 1967 and died soon after at the age of 39 at the hands of CIA-trained Bolivian forces. Serious commemoration is going on this week in a number of South American countries and his fans are around the world.

Wednesday, two days after my lament on a documentary on acupuncture, the BC government announced that the traditional Chinese therapy would be covered by the provincial medical insurance plan for low-income and other disadvantaged people starting in April 2008. What a coincidence!

Throughout the week, Nobel Prize winners of various fields are announced. I am waiting for the announcements of winners in literature and economics.
