Good Old Games

GOG.com is open for several months already and since it has started first as closed beta, they have added lots of Good Old Games.
After buying there Fallout 2 (yes it's my 4th copy of it by now
) and getting for free a very cool adventure game - Beneath a Steel Sky I found they have released a game I was playing when I was a teenager on my mighty Pentium 100
Yes, It's Megarace 2! (Actually it's both Megarace 1 and 2 but I really don't care about the first version
as it was a poor game if you compared it to the sequel).
The game is simple - It's all about the racing:
- You don't have the car?
- We'll give you the car!
And some money so you could buy some stuff like bombs, oil and rockets as no one said that rules are fair
Graphics for the time game was released (early 1994) was astonishing and it took other racing games a few years to beat it. The trick here was you were driving "in the movie" not in the real 3D world. That way scenery looked much more interesting and had plenty of detail in VGA mode!
To make it even more interesting whole story was organized as a TV show with crazy Lance Boyle and his ...uhm.. assistant
Just have a look:
