Rammstein sie sind große!!

Hopefully I typed that correctly (Please any German speakers feel free to correct me because I want to learn!) smile

It was raining so hard when I first went to the concert (Simon was so happy to play with my family while I was gone, yay!) that instead of paying for parking (it was tropical rainstorm type of rain!) there was no one there , woohoo free parking!

Welcome to sunny Florida Rammstein! lol

First they had a guy mixing their music, a DJ type guy instead of an opening band. It was cool but after 45 minutes I was thinking, how long does it take these guys to get into costume? rolleyes

Here was the setup, I was in the stands just a few rows behind the standing crowd

Then they had a platform lower and they came out through the side of the big arena, which was totally cool because they got very near the fans and to my surprise they had two flags. I wouldn't have been offended , in fact cool if it was a German flag but they chose one flag I didn't know what it was (maybe their logo but it looked a bit different than their logo?) and the Florida flag! up

I had been told Europeans generally are very much proud of their regions and here we are somewhat but not as much. Floridians aren't really much at all because we are almost all from some other state (or country for that matter) BUT that being said, I thought it was very respectful of them and very thoughtful to carry it.

I was chuckling to myself thinking some people in the crowd probably can't even recognize the Florida State Flag lol

Also in their song, Amerika near the end of it the lyrics state "This is not a love song" but respectfully (and I was surprised) they took that part out. I can definitely understand a song about American arrogance and hypocrisy (as every country has theirs I'm sure) but that was also nice of them.

Or, maybe in my wishful thinking, I thought "what if they don't apply that arrogance to us, their crowd because we listen to them and maybe they know we agree with them and respect them". Also at the end they did a deep bow and stayed on knees, which was also very reverent.

They put on a good show for sure!

I had heard that Rammstein was into pyrotechnics but I didn't quite realize how far that went. Uhm, they really like fire! and smoke! bigeyes

Here is during one of the explosions

very cool stage and setups. This is just after they went across the platform to the second made stage and were extremely close to the fans there, so that was cool. They crawled across the platform to it and had someone beat them with a fetish type of whip , kinky!

So if you don't know, they have a song called 'Pussy' and it's hilarious and meant to be a joke as far as I understand. I was by myself with one seat in between me and two guys (there weren't many women there, and the ones that were looked like they were mostly there for their boyfriends/husbands/etc) and the guys near me seemed uncomfortable a bit like on how I would react or something? That's just the vibe I got, but I was laughing along with the song and waving my hands so they relaxed lol

I mean why would anyone go to a concert and be either offended or surprised? I mean come on guys! after he was spraying the crowd with white confetti out a phallic looking shooter thing how could you not think it is funny?

Also the lead singer (Till) had a chef outfit and a big industrial looking old style pot and his keyboardist hopped in and he pretended to be trying to cook him with a flamethrower jester

I debated on what shirt to get, a tour shirt (which was a guy's shirt and cut for men really) or a girl's shirt. I had plenty of time to decide, and try to dry off (omg my feet were sooo wet from the rain the whole time, the only part that really sucked about last night) but I figured if I got a girl one I'd be more likely to wear it, since it's a $30 tee shirt as it is doh

I have one more thing to say, a confession to make. I ordered an alcoholic drink (don't tell my mom! lol) I knew the concert would be a few hours so it would wear off. I had one shot of vodka in cranberry juice, here I thought since wine makes me feel something, I felt hardly nothing. Waste of money after all , but it used to be my drink of choice pre-Simon so maybe my body remembered my old tolerance for it whistle

The girl in front of me was clearly drunk and annoying but luckily didn't try to interact with me too much, I was so glad when she ran out of energy after awhile, her boyfriend danced the whole time though. jester

Cool! Looks a little hardcore for me, but glad you enjoyed it and your solitary drink! lol

yeah they are more industrial in person, I guess since I heard their albums I wasn't thinking they'd mix it up more, but that's fine with me smile

Lorenzo, no winter jackets here (brr that sucks btw!) I had to store most of my jackets away, no point for them now.
