Much of the county is still lost under water but it has started to recede however the forcast for the rest of the week is not too promising.

Still dodging the floods here in Galway.
Down at the beach today and the tide was very far out, but still large white capped waves were crashing among the rocks. When a man appeared, fully dressed walking and out of the sea. He headed off inland.

No photos of the current conditions around here, it is just too damn dark to get a shot that is anything grey and grainy.
The weather is getting seriously grim for the next few days. Massive thunder showers and storm force winds, those combined with some extra high tides could lead to even more problems around here.
The water from the taps, for those who have water in there is no longer safe to drink.
An unfinished motor way has been opened in order to allow access into and out of Galway.

Well Galway is mostly cut off from the rest of Ireland tonight, nearly every road around the outskirts seem to be flooded. With more heavy rain forecast for the next couple of days, we will soon be an island on this island. Glub Glub Glub.

It is nice to look back on some of the warmer times of the year.
Because its damned awful out there these days - My own personal bane the electrical storm tearing around the sky last night with rain that would sink the ark and the wind ripping at the roof like a starving dog.
