A chronic lack of sleep.
And a quantity of pain killers.
Combined with an overactive imagination.
And brief lapses in memory.
Result in strange stuff leaking from my brain on to the page.

Long way to go yet
This one like the previous drawing was about 5 or 10 mins of sketching
Again Sorry for the title!

High Cross, Celtic, Drawing, Pencils

Tomorrow, all being well and weather permitting we hope to visit
Clonmacnoise The site contains the ruins of a cathedral, seven churches (10th -13th century), two round towers, three high crosses and the largest collection of Early Christian graveslabs in Western Europe.
Plus on a hill just outside the main site ther is the remains of a castle that looks like someone took an emormous hammer and struck it a mighty blow from above, the remains barly cling to the sides of the hill.
I was there years ago, before i owned a camera, I`m looking forward to giving the camera a good workout.
AS for the drawing, It seems to fit with thoughts of visiting ancient christian ruins.
I spent a good bit of time on it compared to other recent sketches. If you like it you can see the full sized version by clicking on it to get to the album and then hit zoom.

A little rough but still.
I have been working on something of a story recently, which will probably never see the light of day, but I have been inspired to do some illustrations from it.
Up the hill near the Thatchers Castle, half ruined and never occupied since the owner dropped dead at the threshold on the day it was completed
