The guitars are done!!!

After some sessions and lastly four very looooong days in the studio everything instrumental is in place, and it is already sounding monstrous!

Now all we have to do is learn how to sing and record some vocals...

In general gear used in the recordings was: Dean USA Vs, ESP Mirages, Fender Tele, ESP (USA) Strat, ENGL Savage SE, Mesa Dual Rect, Bogner 4x12, Crate 4x12, Mesa 1x12, Fender combo, TS-808, Aphex Punch Factory, Silver Machine, Whammy.

Camo out, Black in

Hmmm what could this be I wonder?

Gone will be the good ol' ESP Camo - it will be headed to my fellow dOMi axeman Frankie who better take good care of her. Otherwise I would have to hurt him, and while that may be fun the ugly truth is that he is needed in the band. I could always leave his fingers intact...

So what is the deal with this MADE IN U.S.A. black beauty?

Just ordered some hardware directly from the awesome people at Dean to give my Dean USA TC V some new clothes; an all black look!

They were very helpful and gave me a great price too - a total of $86.50 for everything: 1x V plate, 1x jack plate, 1x TonePros bridge, 2x pickup rings, 6x Grover tuners.

On the left is a little mockup of how the two "outfits" will look, proper Bo I tell thee!

Ever since I got infatuated with Pantera and Dimebag Darrell (

) when their Cowboys From Hell album came out, I have also been curious about Dean guitars. My buddy Joris, who changes guitar gear more often than I change my underwear (so roughly once a month) and hence has burnt through a massive arsenal of expensive amps and guitars, has always kept talking about how nothing really rouches his Dean. Then, not too long ago, a great offer shows up for that exact same Dean: The very limited Blueburst Custom V of which there were only 13 made. I jumped on it and, as I wrote in a previous blog entry, had my homie Steve send it to me from the USA. Let me just say, Joris you were right all along, this thing SMOKES!

So punchy, so resonant and the balance and playability is outstanding making it the best instrument I've ever played. Not to mention that it is gorgeous.

Anyways, enough rambling, on to some pictures from our last gig to see this beast it in action:

Biggy Dean USA

Biggy Steves just recieved my Dean USA Time Capsule Blueburst Custom V. He shot some pictures of it, and should be sending it my way shortly. Built in the Dean customshop in the USA in 2002, this guitar is number 3 of 13 ever built in this limited series and is in immaculate condition. Can't wait to get her!

Three time's the charm

Pardon the pun, but yesterday I recieved my 3rd ENGL as well as two more positive things happened

The amp arrived after having sent two back on warranty returns. This one looks to be perfect and I even had the store give it a testrun before they sent it, so it was indeed ready to rock when I got home last night. Finally! Also looking for a cab to go with my new amp, and I will most likely go with a Bogner loaded with v30s. They have a real nice and oversized 2x12 as well so I am not yet sure what to go for, but either way it really is one of the better cabs around so it will rule reagrdless.

We rehearsed with a potential new drummer as well, for whom I didn't have too high hopes. What a surprise I got! Knew all our songs, played them at double speed, and we even jammed out some covers in their entirety - Battery, Four Horsemen and Breadfan to name a few. A few drawbacks, be testing him again next week so we'll see then!

Also my building has been trying to throw Misha out as there has been rules against keeping animals. Yesterday we got the reply to the request I sent to the board to keep her - and they accepted, so there's good news #3. Already been around to all the other tenants making sure they're fine with us having a dog, just have to collect all their signatures and we should be OK.

A nice turn of the SPZluck there I'd say, Bo Selecta!

The Savage - Special Edition

Just a quick post to show off my brand new ENGL Savage SE! This monster of a 100W tube guitar amplifier arrived last friday, though with Steve living here and Christmas and all I haven't had to much time with it. Enough time to tell that I absolutely love it though!
