We tried to look at the sites alittle bit but only got to go look around the McCain mall because of all the rain. Martin ran into some guys that are on his rig at the mall. They evacuated up here with their families. Bill even talked to some of his friends that evacuated to Little Rock because that was the only hotel rooms they could find.

Ahh! I can't believe I did that! I backed the van up to the back door at Aunt Irene's house and its on an incline so I set the emergency brake so the van wouldn't roll down the hill with me on top trying to load the bags. Well....the cable came undone and the guys are trying to release the brake. We are suppose to be meeting Cole and his family so the kids can play.

Yeah its free! We can't get the cable back together but the brake is released and we can head out.

Well that was exciting few hours. We meet Cole, his wife and 2 kids at Chucky Cheese. Thankfully you can go in and not have to buy anything. We just let the kids run around that tube thing and burn all their energy so they will sleep on the way back. We were suppose to stay longer but we got there late. Then we meet Jamie and her Mom at CiCi's a little after 6. We stayed and visited as long as we could, but the kids are tired which make them silly and loud and we really needed to get on the road. The boys are driving/navigating so we'll see how we do. *chuckles*
I'm alittle apprehensive about the conditions of town. I still remember H. Rita. No power for over a week was miserable in the heat and I was pregnant which made it even worse. Yuck. I hope its not like that again.

So after sleeping for a few hrs, I am wide awake while the guys are still sleeping. I forgot how gorgeous it is up here. I called mom and they doing ok. The storm is hitting N.O. Still a Cat 2 and expecting the eye to make land at Houma and follow the hwy to Lafayette & Lake Charles then continue on a north path.

It's 4:24 pm and from the radar I've seen it's passing over Jennings now. From what I gather on the internet none of the mandatory evac orders will be lifted until after the storm passes completely and then they have to go thru and check everything to make sure it's "safe" to go back. Mom said it might be Wednesday before we can head back. I'm not really wanting to go back...
I feel at home up here but oh well. My family lives and works in LA so back we'll go.

You got that nice Arkansas heat going on. hehe. Makes for a nice day. James got to go down to the barn and feed the horses and chickens. He's ran around alittle bit here in the country. James and Aimee both have been playing with the dog over here. Its so cute because Aimee keeps calling him Mutly instead of Pippin his name.
Poor Jim is miserable. The trip was rough on him and he can't get comfortable sleeping. His neck is constantly bothering him and you add in the painful headaches. *sigh* Can't wait until we can get it fixed.

The Mandatory Evacuation notice went out this morning @ 6 am. We are currently loading the van up and getting ready to leave. Mom & Dad left @ 2 am and an hr ago went I talked to them they still hadn't reached Beaumont, TX because traffic is horrible. Bill & Mandy went to Houston yesterday, but I worry because Houston always flood. Hopefully everyone will be ok.

So its 10:33 am and we are still at home keeping an eye on the storm. We don't plan on leaving until it's mandatory because we want to see where the storm will go first. Any movements can send it west or east of us. So far it sounds like IF we have to leave we are heading North to Beebe, AR to my Uncle's and Mom & Dad are heading to Granny B's in Giddings, TX and Amanda my sister-in-law is staying in town with her family.
