Post Lal-Masjid and other Rambling Thoughts

, , , ...

The consequences are brutal (to be continued)

6th August:
Ok, left tht hanging there for a long time. If u follow the news, u've probably seen the increased terrorist attacks happening all over Pakistan. When I first wrote the above comment, it was nothing more than the beginning...

Wht's sad is the increasing militant polarization of disaffected Pakistanis who support this more than ever. It's a reminder of a stupid reply a friend, who retardly luved OBL yet sought to seek education and work in the US, made after I asked him whether he'd be kool whether he'd be blown up standing in line for a visa at an US embassy. He said 'Yes'.

Don't be too shocked though. Not all my friends were crackpots! But there were definitely alot of ppl who thought like him and alot of ppl who thought like me. The scary part is we're hearing more and more ppl who thinks like him...and actually do...he was too much of a whimp, really.

I've got no answers for this. Just tht Lal Masjid should hv been crushed as quickly as possible. Now Nutcases around the country who hate the government and the US (nothing new there) r rallying around this, fully knowing how criminal these so called 'Mullanahs' were in the Masjid where one of them actually tried to escape in women's clothing. Sad.

I'm rambling on here, no planned structure for this blog, and I don't really hv a conclusion. I'm just sick and tired of seeing stuff like this. Doctors in the UK joining this crap. Wht the hell?! Maybe I should be glad I'm Shia...I don't know of any suicide bombings by them on civilian populations. Not like as if their saints too...at least in Iraq. And perhaps our somewhat priesthood type system helps us unite under one guy (an Ayatoullah) and don't make up splinter groups or different idealogies from wht we hv.

AHHHHH! Karzai and Bush met yesterday and today. Karzai mentions Iran helping out. Bush sidesteps it saying they're making it worse. Wht a bastard. The Washington Post had an article yesterday stating tht the US made up the intelligence report saying tht Taleban were regrouping in Pakistan. They could hv. But there wasn't any real proof. They got the desired results though. The Peace broker deal fell apart. I'll find the link in a while. Also wanna post the BBC article of the Abu Gharib whistle blower who got outted by Donald Rumsfeld. Will add to this l8r. (to be continued)

Revival of My HYS(Have Your Say) BBC Posts

Here's my BBC activity on the Have Your Say(HYS) Debates from 28th May to today's...Enjoy!

DEBATE: The wonders of the world: Your reaction SENT: 09-Jul-2007 01:19 COMMENT: The number 7 is too small to cover all the Wonders of today's World. The original 7 covered The Mediterranean and Middle-East only. 1000's of years has collapsed since then. Today's current Wonders are so many that entries should be extended to at least 10 to 15 to accomodate the rest of the world, despite 6 of the original wonders being non-existent. Time to detach from the sentimental value #7.

Britions of Pakistani Origin being restricted

, , , ...

The American embassy in Britain has denied any imposition of a restriction on UK citizens of Pakistani Origins. If the report was true, most would have seen it as racist, but others would point it out to be necessary. Though I'm Pakistani, I agree with the latter. (Warning LOOONG rambling uncoherrent Post).

Turkey's current secular crisis

, , , ...

Wrote a Post on BBC regarding a 'Have your Say' topic. Can Islam and Secularism co-exist? (or something like that). I hope I have the correct link. Wrote another Post, trying to find it, or maybe the moderator trashed it.

Secular Extremism (shocking!)?! Most don't understand the secular definition. People think its a utopian solution for a govt. Secularism hinders right of a citizen to even show a glimpse of their religion, such as a cross necklace, headscarf, bible, etc. I can't imagine this in Canada, walking into a public building, told to take off a personal religious item. It's discriminatory. Be a mix like Canada: Religious respect and cultural diversity for citizens. Secularism in all else.
