Not really my department but wanted to share this story with the Opera community. A Los Angeles Cardinal of a Roman Catholic Church just offered an apology yesterday and agreed to a financial settlement worth $(USD)660 million for 508 victims of abuse.
The survey has been backed by the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former US President Jimmy Carter and US economist Joseph Stiglitz, who are all Nobel prize laureates.
It is also supported by Queen Noor of Jordan.
I first stumbled on this monty python video at an opera community member's blog like 2 weeks back. I totally forgot who he was(pretty sure it was a dude. I mention this with no reason)...SORRY 'I don't know ur name' blogger! But here's to u (and the original guy who posted this)! Drum roll pls:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT4azzSRcxwEDIT: I found the 'I don't know ur name' blogger! His website is http://my.opera.com/FXM256/blog/ He's a comic buff, a DC. I'm a Marvel!
You are a movie buff of the most obsessive variety. If a movie exists, chances are that you've seen it. You're an expert on movie facts and trivia. It's hard to stump you with a question about film.
for pics around the world. It caught my eye when it was on the my.opera.com homepage showing Canada's pics, mostly landscape pics of West Canada's mountains(Rockies I think),forests and lakes. The owner of the pics took them herself (I don't think it's her profession...I'm not sure). My favs are the inner-city pics of Barcelona.
I think I've made a blog b4, but never followed up on it . So let me start by giving thanks.
Thank you Opera, for giving me, and us, in this young community a browser that's an alternative to IE and other expensive corporate softwares that threaten to widen the communication, technological gap between the have's and the have not's. Thank you for keeping the freedom alive to use tools that can help us communicate with the new world that is the WWW. Keep innovating!
