Where iris bloom...

, , , ...

under the shade
where iris bloom
I lay me down
and think of you

the days were long
‘til we outgrew
the dancing willows
of summer’s hue

and linger there
I still will go
on bended knee
a longing grows

for simple times
and love’s embrace…

he dried my tears…

you held my face…

no longer cries
bewildering nights
the daze of heatwaves
‘mid boyfriend’s flight!

undo the pain
love's absence brings...
memory’s dance
on evening’s breeze…

Happy Mother's Day

,

Sometimes we
stand alone,
or simply feel we do...
Sometimes our house is "to the brim,"
sometimes
we are all alone,

or still...

But oh to stop and ponder,
magnificently how
the lovely peoples round us
grace us with love...

While God graces us with power...

I wish a very happy Mother's Day to all you lovely, dedicated, wonderful women who are moms! And to those who don't feel 'up to the task' I encourage you to show yourself a little grace, and wish you hope for and delight in the future! God bless you all.

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. --Philippians 4:19

Around the lake...

, , , ...

Around the lake I saw a love from long, long ago,...
The wind so loud, it gushed forth
a coming spring and,
Lo- sweet, encouraging, mild,
Yet, distinctive scent--
Wisteria, I only wishful know,
but lilac’s waft was evident.

How could it be, me sought, just now?
As autumn runs out summer by force
and winter’s fierceness, comes, no doubt,
to bring confession’s sure remorse…
But maybe only this for me,
Perfume will carry on the breeze,
the snowflakes only kiss my face
'til season spring meet me with grace?

Ah, this scent was just for me.
Lilacs strewn--
a lilac hewn,

and carried on the breeze…

Kyoto Morning

, , , ...

Photobucket

Kyoto morning, barely come,
Belfry in this foreigndom--
A song on lark and
Orchid bliss…

I must return, too much distress…

Just fairytale of yesterday,
It didn’t happen, love, this way--
Younger souls, aged hearts,
Ordered garden would not impart--

Young karate kid of mine,
Okinawan born of lye,
To states, to leave, the monkey plane,
Until this day, had not returned…

Sake, uncles, ocean pure--
bodysurfed and sushi-cured;
Gave to me a load of songs,
Island-bound, I’d gone to starve…

Come back to states,
Come back to state,
Love eternal mustn’t wait!
To fight for honour, love,…

make war—

for twenty years and then one more…

Could we go back to China, dear?
Hong Kong, Taiwan…
or stay right here—

Kyoto song, love, yet ring true,…
Still more years… I wait for you.

Beyond Summer Beach, part 14

Beyond Summer Beach
story poetry

Behind me the bench, where love once we sat,
The dock, then the northside, fair-warning, I kept.
As memories’ bonds lock up my heart
To longing and cleaving,
Not my other part.

The circle of life passes this way, my friend…
‘til circle does straighten--

not to walk it again.
