Vast and openmakes me feel awake
even when squinting at the sun
or through the sun
I bake
and it feels good
in the wind
or soft, subtle rain
and more soft wind
no need to contemplate,
just feel the sweet
large
comforting
land we know-
no need for a house
big or little
on the prairie...
not for a visit- just roam
or, better, sit
be still
and listen...
to what?
the hum in summer
the heat has a sound?
the breeze in autumn
and the spring rain water's song
or winter's stillness, yes, it comes and is best
when all seems to lay dormant and brighter light, my rest,
Bright and Morning,
a still small voice comes
a voice of comfort that I know.
and once again I feel white as snow...
