Predicting Serial Killers: Stopping Mother Nature's Repeat Offenders

, , , ...

I am fascinated with this picture, for reasons unclear...

( But then she said, I often am. Fascinated.

And —she went on— Since most of the time I operate intuitively, I don't bother with all that.

So, I pressed, When, then, do you? Bother, I mean. Since you clearly possess analytical awareness of just about everything?

Why, when somebody asks

—she locked eyes with that wicked gleam that always pins me to the cork—

Don't you?

At which point I fell into selective deafness and more closely examined the envelope I had been twisting, having just walked in with the mail when all this took place. There's no way to describe how innocently her concluding syllables play. Every time. )

...So I decided to share a bit about it, here:

"Of 59 water bodies where mosquito larvae were found, only eight contained those species [anopheles (plus... what else?)] that are the most dangerous carriers of [malaria]. Knowing only the locations of the outbreak’s 139 malaria cases, geographic profiling correctly put six of these eight sites in the most infectious 2 percent of the 59."

You can learn more about this HERE.

Now wormholes require a middle name?

, , ,

It's been so long since I typed anything in html code that I'm a bit flummoxed at the moment. But, beyond that detail, I am actually not in much of a writing "mode" --having gone through WAY too much techno-rigamarole before getting my present hardware configurations to work just so .

I'm still a little shaken up by passing all the way through that thing.

Believe it or not, however, the big deal of the moment is that --for the first time since 1999 (let that sink in?)-- I am required to come up with a different user-name! (Which, to me, means somebody else is posing as me here? On the other hand, I should not grumble: How many individuals get away with one universal user-name for over twelve years? You think time passes even slower on this side?) So, I decided to indicate that "Sugarpie Rabbit" has no middle name, and inserted "NMN" into my heretofore user-ID.

Boring factoid? Except that such odd little conjunctions ALWAYS seem to mark some sort of allegorical metaphysical correlation. (Too bad I figure 'em out only way after the fact.)

Having noted today's date, I hope to return very soon with a more "meaty" *actual* (read "intended") beginning of Wire Mothers, Inc. (Which narrative picks up four years ago this coming October, in case you haven't seen The Camel's Back. Assuming it exists here, too.)

Is it really 2011, Willie?

Bart disappeared a while back after crashing up against a proverbial brick wall (no pun, TCB &/or SPR) --I know for sure you can commiserate with that; Bertha never showed up again after brain surgery (wasn't really a garden shed); Mack (last I heard) was still wandering around near the Mason Dixon Line working as a concessioneer because that's the only kind of job where they'd let him wear that suit (and nothing else fits); and I never found out if Archangel John is at all mobile. Budi... Well, let's just skip that chapter: I'm pretty sure once he gets over his present "elderly" phase, he'd be awfully embarrassed (if he remembers any of it by then). Bababubba is just about the only One I've kept up with who's still truly intact. (If you can call Appalachian bunjie rentals entrepreneurial at all.)

I have no idea how I managed to keep breathing all this time. But I seem to be online again, I can still type and (as far as I can tell) I'm still on Planet Earth. (Thae're something, ar na, Eddie)?
