As Long As...
As long as there's a breath
left in your body,
there's hope.
As long as mankind
has prowled the earth,
miracles have happened,
restoring life and health.
As long as you have
a loving heart,
God will send much
warmth and love
to you in return.
As long as you've been alive,
God has been watching over you
and answering your prayers.
As long as the heaven
and stars exist,
God will be there
for you.

Once upon a time
Once upon a time, son
They used to laugh with their hearts
And laugh with their eyes,
But now they only laugh with their teeth,
While their ice-block-cold eyes
There was a time indeed
They used to shake hands with their heart;
But that’s gone, son.
Now they shake hands without hearts
While their left hands search
My empty pockets.
“Feel at home,” “Come again,”
They say, and when I come
Again and feel
At home, once, twice,
There will be no thrice-
For then I find doors shut on me.
So, I have learnt many thing, son.
I have learned to wear many faces
Like dresses-home face
Officeface, streetface, hostface,
Cocktailface with all their confirming smiles
Like a fixed portrait smile.
And I have learned, too,
To laugh with only my teeth
And shake hands without my heart.
I have also learnt to say, ‘Good bye’

Tell me not, in mournful numbers
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumber,
And thing are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
Not enjoyment. And not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today,
Art is long, and time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime.
And departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;
Footprints that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main.
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing. Shall take heart again,
Let us, then be up and doing
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing
Learn to labor and to wait.
