Vocabulary
You'll find you'll get to a point in any language learning where vocabulary begins to take precedence over grammar.
So here we go. I'll start these little segments that give ya grammar based on certain situations or environs. You may wanna look at the list of words I collected for
working at a Japanese Restaurant. This time we have words relating to banking!
- 銀行 ginkou bank
- 口座 kouza bank account
- 振り込み・振り込む furikomi/furikomu deposit/to deposit
- 引き出し・引き出す hikidashi/hikidasu withdrawl/to withdraw
- チェッキング口座 or 当座預金口座 chekkingu kouza or touza yokin kouza checking/current account (Japanese rarely use checks/cheques apparently).
- 普通預金口座 futsuu yokin kouza savings account (as commented on below, this seems similar in its use to a US/UK Checking acount.
- 法人口座 houjin kouza corporate account
- 個人口座 kojinkouza personal account
- 利率 riritsu interest rate
- 自動振込み jidou furikomi automatic payments [lit. automatic deposit]
- 残高照会 zandaka shoukai balance inquiry

That's right,
Crunchyroll has died. Oh, no, the site is still there, but the Crunchyroll that I came to love has died. It gave the internet what it really wanted, and it did it well, but unfortunately it has been bitten by the corporate lovebug.
It is my understanding that they have decided to show only anime that are officially signed over to them. If you wanna watch, you gotta be in the right region (read: US) and I think ya gotta pay money. Great service is you fulfill the requirements.
But the downside - and it's a huge downside - you can kiss basically all the drama (Chinese, Japanese or Korean) goodbye, especially older dramas.
Sad, sad story, really. I was halfway through Trick 2. Darn.

stress, drama, life lesson
Kimi Wa Petto (きみはペット) is a girl's drama, I'll give you that, but it does have a funny and interesting plot to it. One day a sucessful Toudai graduate finds a young boy in a cardboard box, beaten and bloody. She comes to let him stay with her under the condition that he becomes her pet.
It's quirky. The following scene is when a recurring character, a counseller tries to give Iwaya (the main woman) a tip on how to release her stress.
男：疲れた時には、まず無人島を思い浮かべてみてください。
いわや：はい？
男：目を閉じて、青い海を。
いわや： そんな暇ありませんから。
男：そして後はこれからその無人島にたった一人ですまなきゃならない。 さびしい。文明のききはなく、夜は真っ暗だ。 その時一つだけ持っていけるアイテムはあるとしたらあなたは何を選びますか？
otoko: tsukareta toki ni ha, mazu mujintou wo omoiukabete mite kudasai.
iwaya: hai?
otoko: me wo tojite, aoi umi wo
iwaya: sonna hima arimasen kara.
otoko: soshite ato ha kore kara sono mujintou ni tatta hitori de sumanakya naranai. sabishii. bunmei no kiki ha naku, yoru ha makkura da. sono toki hitotsu dake motte ikeru aitemu ha aru to shitara, anata ha nani wo erabimasu ka?
Man: When you're tired, try picturing a desserted island.
Iwaya: Huh?
Man: Close your eyes, imagine a blue sea.
Iwaya: I don't have the time for that.
Man: From there imagine you have to live there by yourself. It's lonely, there's no sign of civilization, and the nights are pitch black. At those times, if you could take just one item, what would you choose?
An interesting question in any language.
