Weekend Blues
It's already Friday and the weekend is already here. Well I am thinking what do, glanced at the papers and my mind was saying, why not catch an afternoon show tomorrow. Well I guess I will go and see whether I can actually get the tickets afterwards as soon as I finish this blog otherwise someother plans.
What would be next, I don't really know, and what would I do on a Sunday? It's Church in the morning and maybe after that I would prepare my lunch, got it already planned today........it would be mutton curry.Have it along with some beer and then take an afternoon nap and after that back to the book that I am currently reading 'You are the answer' and cable TV till mid-night. What an existence............pretty drab huh!It sucks to be alone in a foreign country.
Actually this weekend I was supposed to be immersed with work with our Arbitration but it so happened that our lawyer fell sick and the whole thing had to be postponed to another date. After which, I could plan my trip back home to Kuala Lumpur for my holidays.
So my best wishes to others who would be having a great time this weekend.
Bye,
sukku

Rush Hour 3
I had a good time last night watching Rush Hour 3, it's a pretty good movie and if you haven't seen it yet, you are missing out on something. Well here is the synopsis:
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker return for a third time as Inspector Lee and Carter. This time the Chinese ambassador has been shot by the worst criminal organization in the world, the triad. This during a council to eliminate the triads. Jackie and Chris promise the ambassadors daughter that they will find who did this. As the film progresses they are hot on the case of the triads and when the ambassadors daughter gets kidnapped the story leads the cops to Paris where they work to save the ambassadors daughter and destroy the triads for good.
Simple plot huh! But the action was good and time just flew very fast. I was watching it at Prasad Imax and I had some middle east guys sitting on my right, busy chatting away in Arabic and playing with their phone, it was getting a bit irritating though. And with all this trouble with people from that side, you really get scared what they are planning. And on my left I had a group of teenagers and a funny thing happened, I had bought a small bottle of Kinley water and I was happily sipping away my water and after the internal, the guy sitting on right decides to take my bottle and pass it to his girlfriend I guess. Now what do I do? Do I tell him that the water is mine and I had drank from it. Lo and behold..........I just kept quiet as it serves him right to take my water without even thinking that it was not his.

anotherday
In case if you are wondering what am I saying, that it's just another day. I guess it is just like any other day as all days are, the same. I woke up in the morning and had my usual breakfast of bread with tea, then my dose of news on the telly and after which I would be in my office. A fax was waiting for me in my office, it was regarding the money that my company had remitted on 15.08.2007 but up to yesterday there was no sign of the money in our bank. So my task would be to see the Manager of the bank and show the piece of fax that I had received and to sort matters out. Well that is out of the extraordinary for me as I know it's the agony of waiting in the bank and the blank looks that I would get from the Manager.
What else would I be doing today, my lunch is all set as I have a bit of chicken curry which I had cooked on Sunday and dinner would be an issue as I have to prepare something. Now what am I going to do in the afternoon, I really don't know. Maybe clear up my accounts, that is the entry for my petty cash account.
I have booked a ticket for a show this evening for 'Rush Hour 3' and I guess my time would fly faster as I would be transported into the magical world of kung-fu and slapstick comedy by Jackie Chan.
So isn't it as I said....Just another day.........

Wakeupcall
It's Monday and usually the day starts very slow after the weekend. Now what did I do over the weekend. I guess I spent most of my time reading my new book about the purpose of our soul. What I learned from the book is the subject on 'Wake-up Call' and it got me thinking on the number of wake up calls that I had received from upstairs. I analyzed it and I guess I can validate that it was necessary as my life was heading on the wrong direction. I had a bad accident in 1997, where I smashed my Vitara on a parked crane on the Highway when I was returning home at about 11.00 p.m. It's not very late though but I guess it was the circumstances that I was in or rather doing at that period of time. I almost died, I actually snoozed and my eyes were closed for a few seconds and I literally got up with a bang! After that I did a bit of soul searching, only a wee bit and changed my ways.
The second wake-up call was 4 years after that and this time my Pajero rolled 5 times on a ravine and I am lucky that I came out alive. Another period where I was working outstation and I guess I must have messed up.
The third major wake-up call(4 years after the second) was when someone had framed me for something that I didn't do. Now this wake-up call is the mother of all wake-up calls. I nearly threw my life away. But everything is ok now and also it made me look inwards to look for answers. I guess I have spent a great deal of time reading and contemplating on my purpose on earth. I am sure most of us would do that at some point in our life, be it at a tragedy or a loss of our loved ones. Life is never a bed of roses......there are lessons presented to us on every conceivable occasion. It is up to us to pick out this cues that life is throwing at us.
I analyzed that these major wake-up calls happens to me every 4 years, I guess I should expect one in 2009. I have also learned to be alone with myself in solitude as I am in a foreign country on my own (on a project) and I spend most of the time learning and trying to understand the mechanism of life itself.
Take care and bye.

Life, pleasure, Simple
Learn from the simple things of life
By Paulo Coelho
In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna the warrior asks the Enlightened Lord, "Who are you?"
Instead of answering "I am this," Krishna begins to talk of the small and big things in the world — and to say that he is there. Arjuna begins to see the face of God in everything around him.
However, although we are created in the image and likeness of the Almighty, we spend all our life trying to lock ourselves inside a bloc of coherency, certainty and opinions. We do not understand that we are in the flowers, in the mountains, in the things that we see on our way to work every day. We rarely think that we came from a mystery — birth — and are heading towards another mystery — death.
If we reflect on this, if we realise that the Divine presence and universal wisdom are in everything that surrounds us, we shall perform each action with more freedom. What follows are some stories on the matter:
Philosopher and boatman
Sufi tradition tells the story of a philosopher who was crossing a river in a boat. During the crossing, he tried to display his wisdom to the boatman.
"Do you know what great contribution Schopenhauer left to humanity?"
"No," replied the boatman. "But I know God, the river, and the simple wisdom of my people."
"Well, just know that you have lost half of your life!"
In the middle of the river the boat hit a rock and sank. The boatman was swimming towards one of the banks when he saw the philosopher drowning.
"I don’t know how to swim," he shouted in despair. "I told you that you had lost half your life by not knowing Schopenhauer, and now I am losing my whole life for not knowing something so simple."
Meanwhile, Schopenhauer...
The German philosopher Schopenhauer (1788-1860) was walking along a street in Dresden, seeking answers to the questions that troubled him. All of a sudden he saw a garden and decided to spend some hours contemplating the flowers.
One of the neighbours noticed the man’s strange behaviour and went to look for a policeman. Some minutes later, a policeman approached him.
"Who are you?" asked the policeman in a rough voice.
Schopenhauer looked at the man from head to toe.
"That is what I want to find out while I look at the flowers. If you can answer that question, I shall be forever grateful."
And while out walking...
While walking through a field, a man spotted a scarecrow.
"You must be tired standing there in this lonely field with nothing to do," he commented.
The scarecrow replied, "There is great pleasure in driving away danger, and I never grow tired doing this."
"Yes, I too have acted like that, and with good results," agreed the man.
"But those who are full of straw inside are always chasing things away," said the scarecrow.
The man took some years to understand the answer: those with flesh and blood in their body must accept some unexpected things. But those with nothing inside them are always driving off everything that comes near them — and not even the blessings of God can come close to them.

Killing Time, haircut, Whisky, Johhnie Walker
...
Thats what I did yesterday, had a haircut in the afternoon and the barber had a tough time actually looking for hair. I should thank my lucky stars that I still have hair and also enjoy my trips to the barber shop because sooner of later, I guess I would be able to save my barber charges when I am totally bald. I hope I won't come to that stage, maybe a few strands here and there to keep the barber busy.
In the evening I opened my collectors item of the Black label by JW and I had my swigs while watching a video that I rented yesterday titled 'Sentinel', it was an action thriller and was about the assasination of the President of USA. You see evenings are difficult time for me as I have the whole evening and night to kill. What do I do to keep myself occupied, you tell me! Watch the cable TV and get sick with the news on the telly, there is so much violence in India and also the rest of the world.
I am in Hyderabad running my office for my company which is based in Kuala Lumpur and life gets pretty boring. I do read a lot of books but then sometimes I get the urge to have a couple of swigs and I would feel terrible the next day, like how I am feeling now. Not only I had the drink, I actually finished about 250 grams of peanut that I fried last night to go along with the drink. I think the drink was okay but not the peanuts. I was thristy in the morning and I guess too much of peanuts is not really that good for the health. It's make a monkey out of you.
Well today is another tough day to kill, a Saturday and I don't really go out. What do I do then? Maybe I'll have a nap in the afternoon and start reading my new book that I had bought yesterday titled 'You are the answer' - A guide to Self-Awareness & Personal growth. Maybe I'll cook chicken curry at night to keep myself busy and it would save me from cooking tomorrow. And tomorrow is another day with another story!

Opera, Windows Vista, Compatability, Speed
Just wanted to let you know that after tremendous contemplation I had decided to install Opera on my laptop with Windows Vista and so far so good. I find that it is quite fast and also I get to do my stuff with ease. Just want let others know that if you were in my shoes, please go ahead and install it.
I guess the reason why I wanted to get on with Opera is mainly about safety issues, I don't want my system to be infected with all the spyware. Anyway I guess I shouldn't be commenting that much as I had just only installed it, maybe after a week I should give you the update.
Till then, bye.
