Mac, Apple, mac mini
YES! YOU GOT IT!! I just bought good ol' buddies skunkie and polyvector's mac mini that they developed the all lovable windows app, rocketdock with. I have found a new love in computers. this thing is beyond sexy, I'm telling ya. the only problem is, is the cd drive is dead, but who cares, i don't even use cd's and if i really need one, i'll just get a firewire one, or replace the cd drive. This is so awesome. Did I mention the price?! 235 dollars! Just for being so awesome to me and being such awesome friends, i threw in a 5 dollar tip just for the hell of it. It's shipping tomorrow, which makes me incredibly excited. They were nice enough to take really high quality pics, which i will be displaying later in higher format than usual on my opera so you can see all the detail. The reason i'm displaying later is because my opera is being gay (for once) and not letting me upload any photos.

Apple, G3 Slot loading, PAV board, iMac
Ok, this is old news to me and I've finally got it all sorted out. You see, one of the problems with the iMac G3 Slot loading kind is the PAV board (power analog video board) is a daughter card on the logic board. The purpose of the PAV board is to put power and display to the CRT screen. The problem with it is, it dies in a few G3 imacs...Well, maybe more than just a few. What is displayed on my iMac's screen is normal, then for a few seconds it will turn a little yellow, and flicker from normal to a dim yellow shade. I guess I am the lucky one because most people with this problem get NO SCREEN at all. When this happens, you can plug in a external display and still be fine, but your screen inside the iMac just dies. What I have resolved with the helpful friendly people at Midwest Tech Recyclers on eBay is I am going to take out my upgrades (I bought some ram and put it in to have it at 512MB) Just send back the unit (cause they let me keep the keyboard, mouse, and power) and when they get it, they are sending me a new one. Sure I'll lose my stuff on the hard drive but who cares, it's all backed up on the external anyway. I just really have to make sure I get the memory out and the original ram (320 MB) Back in. I really do not recommend 320 MB of ram for Tiger on a iMac G3. What the problem is, is that it will eat it all soon, even if you are just listening to iTunes, running Mail, and using Safari/Firefox. Chances are you will have 4MB of ram free! With 512 MB of ram, you'll at least get a couple hundred MB free of ram. Apple says that 512 MB is the maximum ram for this iMac, but you can really fit up to 1GB of ram if I read correctly on
http://www.macspeedzone.com/html/hubs/specs/imac/feb-01.shtmlIt's the DV G3 400 in indigo and ruby, which is the one I have. I'm shipping my iMac back tomorrow and when they receive it, they will ship a new one. Awesome!!

Mac OS, OS X, Mac, 10.4 Tiger
...
I recently purchased a iMac G3 on ebay. It's a ruby one, comes with keyboard mouse and power cord, with 384MB of ram, 10GB hard drive, and a 400MHz Processor. It runs Tiger! 10.4.6! How awesome, and it comes TOMORROW! I am about to scheiße all out the window from all the excitement. The cool thing is that I have red and white gel candles and they are the same colors as my new iMac! I am so happy that I finally got a apple computer. I will post unboxing pictures tomorrow.
