Eating in Pisa

One of the best attractions of Italy to me is food. Although my hosts cook well, I asked them to take me to a nice restaurant.
This is where they took me to.
It is situated between Pisa and a nearby town called Lucca, and uses the old villa constructed by a local aristocrat called Poschi.
I will show you some of the food I had.
This is my starter, "Antipasto di mare" (actually they had a fancier name, but the essence was this). The plate was big and there was a lot to eat.
The flat, tongue ham like stuff is made of octopus. And I met here again the fake caviar (the black thing on the mousse like stuff).
This is my main dish (I skipped the first dish, which usually is pasta, rice or soup), tagliata di manzo. A kind of beef steak, but served already cut into pieces.
The meat is on rucola (green leaf veggie). It often comes with parmesan cheese, but this one didn't.
Now you want to know how they tasted like. Well, surprisingly it was not as good as I expected. The meant was over-cooked and partly carbonised. The starter was ok, but not more than that. I was not impressed.
This is the dessert. These biscuits are called "cantucci" or "cantuccini", typical sweets in Tuscany. You dip it in sweet wine called "vin santo" and eat it.
Now, the restrautant and the food look expensive, but, again surprisingly, it wasn't. We paid only about 25euro a head, including half bottle of wine.
It is unfortunate that the quality of the food does not exceed very the price we paid.
