Thank you for this guide. I've been trying to figure out how to change my tab behavior to mimic FireFox and this helped.

This gesture manager is horrible, it should be 'select action, click edit, perform gesture' and your done.

Alternatively edit the mouse .ini file directly.

In Linux it's in:

~/.opera/mouse/

Much clearer IMHO. The only thing I generall change is to switch the default GestureDown to open in a new tab to GestureUp which matches the Firefox All-In-One-Gestures plugin.

Here's what the file looks like - very clear and simple:

Opera Preferences version 2.1
; Do not edit this file while Opera is running
; This file is stored in UTF-8 encoding

Remove brackets and try.

I just want to edit pressing the right mouse button and scroll up the mouse wheel opera switch/cycle to the tab on the right next to the actual one.
It don't work and neither google nor a forum for opera users gives a hint.
