Ventabren is a very pretty village, perched at the top of a hill and dominated by the ruins of the Château of Queen Jeanne. Ideally situated in the middle of the Marseilles-Aix-Salon-de-Provence triangle, Ventabren boasts a picturesque Provençal backdrop and countryside, while being less than 30 minutes away from a major urban centre.
Ventabren has developed considerably over the last few years and has graduated from being a small Provençal village to become a vast residential municipality, with new houses mushrooming and extending below the village on to the plains which surround it.

In 1866, Alphonse Daudet's "Lettres de mon moulin", written in Clamart, near Paris, and alluding to a windmill in Fontvieille, Provence, won the attention of many readers.
The mill is now restored and one could visit a museum dedicated to this french novelist Alphonse Daudet ( 1840 - 1897)

Montmajour Abbey (French: Abbaye Notre Dame de Montmajour) is located near Arles in the Bouches-du-Rhône département, Provence, in the south of France.
The Benedictine abbey is situated on a hill and has endured a colourful history of building and destruction from the 10th to the 18th century.
The 10th century Saint-Pierre hermitage, the Saint-Croix crypt and a 12th century Saint-Croix chapel are very important parts of the abbey.

For only the second time in the history of the tournament, the sport's greatest prize was settled by spot-kicks after both teams had finished extra-time deadlocked at 1-1.
France captain Zinedine Zidane has won the Golden Ball award for the World Cup's best player, despite his red card in Sunday's defeat to Italy in the final. Zidane polled 2012 points in the vote by journalists covering the tournament, ahead of Italian Fabio Cannavaro (1977 points) and Andrea Pirlo (715 points).
