Opera:Gpu with enabled hardware acceleration status enabled

, ,

I've posted before about how I enable hardware acceleration on my MacBook Pro Early 2011 with ATI Radeon driver. I've found that my OpenGL tells that my video card named "AMD Radeon Renderer", not "ATI Radeon Renderer". So I have no HW acceleration at all.

If you want HW enabled and you have similar system configuration (please, check how your opengl title with third-party program!!!), you need to fix opera block list manually.

To do this you should edit file ~/Library/Opera Next/mac-opengl.blocklist.json section with vendor ATI and replace with renderer match yours from ATI Raadeon HD to AMD Radeon HD. I give no warranty and Opera Next has too much glitches with HW enabled, but you can get ~60 FPS with WebGL tests and demos (which is normal value for).

GPU BlockList 1.0.6 and Mac OS X

I've found why Opera Next tells me that my ATI video card is "too old and too buggy"

My video card description is not "ATI Radeon HD ...", it's "AMD Radeon HD ..."!
