STICKY POST

Welcome!

, , , ...

Welcome techies. This is the place to go if you like technology or even if it makes you rip off your hair. I'm DrLaunch and I created this group together with Anzah. But I like to think this place belongs to all our members. Please let me introduce you to this place.

We're changing the group name

, , , ...

We ran a poll in the forums way back asking people which name we should use for the group. The amount of replies was mildly speaking, underwhelming. Only seven votes, and really not enough variation in the result to see the general opinion of the members. One answer did however get more votes, and unless the poll results change, I'm going to go for the current leader. Which answer recieved most votes, you might ask. Well. Cast your vote in the poll and find out.

How techie can you get?

,

I was cleaning up my bliki today and I found this gem of a quote:

Digital reality?

During the prayer at the end of chapel today the pastor’s voice broke from emotion and she stopped abruptly mid-word. My immediate reaction was “argh, packet loss again!?”

Yeah. It’s that bad.

It's still funny after three weeks.

Check out the new forum game! Tech-tagging. Join to play!

, , , ...

There's a new game going on in the forums. It's called tech-tagging. When you're tech-tagged you have to post about 5 of your gadgets and tag 3 other members.

1. When you're tech-tagged you have to post about 5 of your gadgets (phone, games console, TV, computer, washing machine, anything) in this forum thread.

2. Then you have to tag three other #techie members by linking to their profiles in your post and sending them a private message where you tell them that they have been tech-tagged and have to post about 5 of their gadgets in this forum thread according to these rules. Remember to include the link to this thread.

If you want to join the game, you have to become a member and wait for someone to tech-tag you.

Have fun!

Mac user wanted as moderator

, ,

We in #techie want to include as many people as possible. The current moderators know some about Windows, Linux and BSD. But we're missing an important platform. Mac OS.

If you know something about using Mac OS and think you could help, you could become our Mac OS moderator. You'll get access to post in the blog and moderate the forums. And you'll get access to the moderator forum. . You'll also become an operator in our IRC channel at OperaNet.

Leave a comment if this sounds interesting to you.
